From the moment I walked in, it was clear that the staff’s attitude was going to overshadow the entire experience. Their demeanor was cold, dismissive, and unprofessional, making it nearly impossible to feel comfortable. Instead of being greeted with even basic courtesy, I was met with eye-rolling and sighs, as if assisting me was an inconvenience. It set an awful tone for the rest of my visit. As the interaction continued, their behavior crossed a line from rude to outright offensive. Comments were made that carried clear homophobic undertones, delivered with a smirk that suggested they knew exactly what they were doing. It wasn’t just one poorly chosen remark, either — it was a pattern that made me feel singled out and disrespected. No one should have to deal with that kind of treatment anywhere, especially in a place that’s supposed to be welcoming to customers. On top of that, there were sexist comments thrown around as if they were harmless jokes. The dismissive tone, the patronizing attitude, and the way they spoke made it obvious they didn’t see anything wrong with their behavior. It created a tense and uncomfortable environment, and it was hard to focus on anything else when the atmosphere was so blatantly unprofessional and discriminatory. Unfortunately, the food did nothing to redeem the situation. Even if the service had been perfect, the dishes themselves were disappointing at best. The flavors fell flat, the textures were off, and nothing tasted fresh or thoughtfully prepared. It was the kind of meal you struggle to finish, not because you’re full, but because it simply isn’t enjoyable. By the time I left, the combination of poor service, offensive behavior, and lackluster food made it clear that this was not a place I would ever return to. No matter how hungry someone might be, no one deserves to be treated with disrespect while also receiving a subpar meal. The entire experience was a reminder that both attitude and quality matter — and here, neither was even close to acceptable.

I was extremely disappointed with my visit to Spice Gardens. During my time there, I felt that my friend and I were treated differently because we’re gay. When we tried to use the bathroom, we were told we couldn’t, without a clear explanation, and the interaction left us feeling singled out and unwelcome. Regardless of who someone is or who they love, every customer deserves basic respect and equal treatment. My experience at Spice Gardens made me feel uncomfortable and excluded, and I hope the management reflects on how situations like this are handled in the future.

Excellent curry house. Often go here with my friends and not once have I thought the food was anything other than exceptional. I've never tried as takeaway but it's our go to for a lads gathering.

I was given 7:20pm as my collection time so I turned up at 7:15pm. I wasn't handed my order until 8:25pm. The manager spent the whole time telling all the people waiting that their orders were almost ready, so it meant I'd left my partner and our 8 month old daughter outside in the cold for an hour. The manager just accepts as many just eat orders as he can and then makes customers wait. Every single person that came in to collect was made to wait around 45 minutes to an hour. I'd left the car running to keep the heating on for my partner and daughter, so my car was sat running for over an hour. If the owner hadn't kept telling me it was almost ready I'd have left much sooner than I did. I'd heard good things about this place so feel so disappointed. Shout out to the staff that tried to help, sadly the manager seems to be making their job impossible.
