A very tired pub. Food was not hot but they did offer a pudding or coffee when we mentioned it. The Xmas decs were lovely in the bar area but the large baubles in the windows sent me wappy they bounce off the windows with the heat from the radiators.
We came with a friend for a toddler session during the week. Met by a very friendly lady who was very smiley and happy to help. It was nice and quiet for the smaller children to play which was nice. Can’t comment on the food as we only had coffees but think we will now be regular visitors!
I had my daughter's 6th birthday here. It was nice and cosy and the staff were welcoming and friendly. We all had a good time.
Absolutely dreadful experience. The food was atrocious dry, lifeless, and clearly thrown together with zero care. The raw carrot sticks served for the kids looked like they'd been hacked up days ago and left out to dehydrate. Even the basics were disappointing. The place stinks of urine and every time someone goes to the loo, the smell of urinal cakes wafts into the dining area. Not exactly appetising
We have been coming here for many years and it just gets better and better! Food is fantastic! Staff are so welcoming and it gives us a rest from the kiddies
We came with our 2yr old and 9month old on a Monday afternoon. It was pretty quiet and got quieter, which was good for my shy toddler. Where it really stood out from the others was the food and service. We picked the vegan mushroom and ale pie, and the vegan jackfruit enchiladas. They were amazing! Better than I would expect from a fancy restaurant, let alone a soft play. Rebecca looked after us and was so helpful! I want to bring our vegan friends for a meal sometime. (Most of the food was non vegan, plenty of meat options, I’m just trying to be green where I can)
We cannot fault a couple of hours in their kids play area and go as often as we can with the twin 5 year old grandsons. We booked in for the hosted , Christmas Party event a couple of nights before Christmas and were not disappointed. The lads knocked themselves out on the apparatus for a good while , before sitting down to some really nice kids food provided, in with ,the very reasonable ticket admission price and in a room behind the play area . We sat down with a few beers and watched all the children happily mingling along with each other. The staff are always really friendly and the food and drink is always great at the venue. You can even enjoy a meal in the Wacky ,brought in from the Chequers next door and whilst watching the fun. We some times do though prefer to all eat afterwards, in the Main Chequers Restaurant . We love taking our little one here (3) and Chan always makes us feel so welcome. She remembers the kids names, the parents and an absolute credit to the company. If we still ran our company (cafe) we would have tapped her up. Excellent customer service at all times! The food is top tier pub grub too.
Pleasent experience with the Grandkids, clean, helpful staff. Slightly expensive if being honest (£5 per kid) for a couple of slides a climbing frame and millions of balls. All in all the Kid's enjoyed it, so mission accomplished.
We take my granddaughter here regularly. She absolutely loves it! Great value for money especially with a monthly pass. Jess has been particularly helpful and friendly. My granddaughter really likes her, Jess is great with the young kids :)
