We came in for a Sunday roast and enjoyed some desserts (whipped cheesecake pictured), prompt service, gorgeous food and a comfortable, dog friendly environment. Would definitely recommend!

We were staying at Wortley hall for a Saturday night stay, and had a wander down to the village. We hadnβt booked but the manager managed to get us in. The staff were lovely. The meal was reasonable, as were the drinks. The food was amazing, we had a parking for dessert, which we had never heard about before(coming from Lincolnshire) but also extremely nice.

We had a superb evening meal here, beautifully presented and perfectly cooked. The landlord and staff are amazing and couldn't do enough for us, I'll remember our evening for a long time and will definitely be returning as often as possible to try the rest of the mouthwatering menu! The place itself is also beautiful inside and out, and spotlessly clean. Thanks guys for making it so special!

Out and about today and stumbled on this place by accident. Went in and were greeted by a lovely guy who was friendly and polite the whole way through our meal. The food was really lovely couldn't fault it at all. The portions were great, and one thing I will say is that their coffee is actually hot. Thank you. If we are ever in the area again, we will be back xx

Rang ahead for lunch and friendly staff told us no need to book. We had a lovely table in the dog friendly lounge directly adjacent to the bar, with 2 excellent steaks, done perfectly authentically blue for mine, (which is a rarity nowadays with some kitchens) just before they closed for lunch. We were offered desserts too even though the kitchen had closed and had sticky toffee alongside Bakewell. Lady running the bar was accommodating both lounges and the bar by herself, and was always attentive and observant to the table despite juggling tables on both sides. Big bonus for us was the quiet table in the corner with dog friendly lounge. The pub itself it situated in the lovely small village with a really broad menu of not pub food basic, but a well presented selection, and is only a short drive from the various walks and scenery nearby, and a short stop off on the way through heading north or south on the M1. Really worth seeking out and definitely recommended. Thank you!

Had the Christmas menu tonight, it was our Christmas party, we wanted food and drinks but didnβt expect to be blown away so much by how well it was presented, the way in which we were welcomed, and most of all it tasted to so good! Even the sprouts!! We never had to ask for anything the service was impeccable and the relaxed atmosphere made for a very enjoyable evening. Thankyou for putting so much into making every single one of us feel special and looked after!

Called in for a drink after a walk with friends. We asked if we could borrow a couple of chairs from the reserved tables whilst no one was sitting their. We were bluntly refused with a "No!" From what looked to be the manager, who turned and walked away without a bye or leave, as if we had asked something rude. We often go to pubs after walks and most often some of us decide to have a meal. This won't happen at this miserable place. I will never go there again. Common curteousy goes a long way to keep a pub running, can't see this one surviving with such rude staff.

Absolute amazing country pub for Sunday dinner. The food was fantastic, generous portions too. Great atmosphere and look to the place. The staff were very polite and helpful. We will definitely be visiting again very soon!
