   We were visiting Bakewell from the USA for the first time. We were recommended to eat here from a local. A quick beautiful walk and the restaurant was close to the center of town. The staff were friendly and very kind. We ordered several drinks- every single one was so delicious. The P***star martini and the eggnog was quite literally the best versions of the drinks I’ve ever had (and I don’t like eggnog). The portions were huge and all the food came quickly. For appetizers we got the chicken liver parfait (very good- a novelty for an American) and a soup. For mains we got the fish and chips, the mushroom pie, a steak and ham pie, and a seasonal Christmas panini. Everything was so great- we were so full. After a while we ordered more drinks and a dessert. Would definitely recommend here and would come again!

   We had a meal here on a Tuesday evening in December while visiting Chatsworth House. The Woodyard had a great atmosphere with lots of tables busy. The service was impeccable. The food was delicious and the cocktails lovely. We both had the turkey and ham hock pie. The portions are generous. Highly recommend ‘The Woodyard’

   I'm sorry to say but what an absolute rip off. It took 50 minutes of waiting between the starter and main. UPDATE.. we were never told of such a long wait at all or we wouldn't have ate with two children. Also, tell who? Noone checked on us in the meal and we couldn't get anyone's attention for further assistance.. we tried. A refund would have been appreciated as was simply awful to be honest and we did voice we weren't happy and just got sorry as staff ran off. Didn't get chance to speak! I reused my starter fork for my mains as it was that difficult to get assistance. Thankyou for the apology and I think the photos clearly evidentiate my points. The starter sharing feta flatbread was good but we had 0 napkins, given no plates and it was overpriced. However it WAS tasty and it did arrive 15 minutes after ordering. After waiting 40 minutes, we asked where our food was as noone really gave any attention to tables outside despite the cost to eat there, the response was "5 minutes". 10 minutes later our food arrived. And omg, the most basic small and boring salad came, we added vegan meat balls but it was unseasoned leaves and unsauced dry meatballs thrown on for £18 it wasn't even worth 10!!!!! The kids ate pizza which only one enjoyed and I ended up eating whilst they had my special mushroom pasta that was just water for sauce. Ironically it was good to soak awful dry unseasonal meatballs in or drink which didn't seem appropriate to do ! Just ripped off with overpiced bad food because of location AND SERVICE WAS AWFUL. We grabbed a stand on ordering with only 1 napkin in and no alternative. Used stands were put next to the outside bar a refilled sporadically with napkins without removing cutlery left between uses. It was very unhygienic. Servers ran off before I could ask for more and all 4 of us were disappointed. £80 of disappointment and a worse salad than weatherspoons. No real apology and the sauce on the pasta was as thick as water and of course the mushroom pasta was lacking mushrooms. I feel robbed and we now need to find food as the salad was a poor handful of unfilling plain leaves. I said it was poor service as took ages yet they just said sorry walking off. Noone cared and we left. Gutted absolutely gutted. Just avoid.

1. Golden Horn ★★★★☆

   First time here. A vegan and a normal person. Weird vegan menu, nothing appealed to me, so got a pizza which was yummy. Tea was gorgeous. Staff was lovely, and attentive. Step at back could possibly be fashioned into a ramp. I think this is a chain pub/restaurant. Outdoor seating. Pleasant visit.

   I had lunch with a friend at the outside area near the river, which is one of the best features of this pub. She ordered the salmon with butter and lemon sauce which was very good. However, I was disappointed with my burger. The beef meat was overcooked and dry, the bun was also dry, and the burger was hard to bite into and gooey. Very good service, everyone was lovely.

   Another fabulous meal today at the Woodyard. Excellent choice for gluten free. Beautiful food, well presented, great service. Clean restaurant. Clean toilets. Can't wait to go back and try more things off the menu.

   Tasty Food. I don't really like gooey eggs and the salmon fishcake had such an egg on top. Swapped with my husband's for his crab and prawn stack. Both starters were tasty. Mains were tasty too. We had grilled seabass and jerk chicken. The jerk chicken wasn't really the Jamaican jerk chicken, more a chicken fillet with BBQ type sauce on top. Regardless, still tasted good. Service was efficient and welcoming. Restaurant and toilet looked clean and hygienic.

   Located very close to the parking places, which despite it being a cold Monday in March were quite full…food was good overall. Mushy peas with the fish and chips made in the traditional way with mint and tarragon which most people today don’t bother with. Chips were very good and overall service was great. The waffle sundae was probably the best version I’ve ever had. Fish cakes starter was very good.

   five of us arrived 12:45pm on thursday. plenty of seats probable due to bad weather a day before (flood warning) or cash only (the card reader machine was not working). the staffs were friendly. all the meals we ordered were tasty especially duo lamb dish was delicious.
