First timer and delivered super quick, service with a smile. The best chippy tea we have had in quite a while! Will definitely be back. Thank you.

Amazing place, super authentic, great prices. We came all the way from Hong Kong for this and were not disappointed!

Called at 12 noon on a Tuesday, nothing ready, had to wait 10mins for chips and when they did arrive they were very greasy and the portion was terrible! Ordered a large chips, it hardly the size of a regular chips. Paid Β£3.00 for them, we won't be going back anytime soon. Photo shows how small the 'large chips' portion was compared to another chip shop we had to go to to get more chips!

As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with a big smile and told to sit wherever we fancied. Straight away, the atmosphere felt dead friendly βΊοΈ Food: The food was bang on. Everything tasted fresh, and the chips? Honestly, the best Iβve had in ages β proper crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. Oh, and the peas β proper traditional peas, like they used to be, made with fresh marrowfat. Portions were spot on, and itβs great value for money. I loved the specials like chicken curry and hot pot. Theyβve even got calories on the menu, which stood out for me straight away. Service: The service was cracking, especially since it was just one person running the show. She kept everyone updated, saying stuff like, βWeβre just waiting on chips for 10 minutes,β and she even apologised for the wait (not that we minded, fresh food is worth it!). Nothing was too much trouble β I even heard someone come in with a βweirdβ order, and she just sorted it, no stress. She made sure we were happy with our food, which you donβt always get these days. Atmosphere: This is what made it for us. Me and the husband both said it felt proper homely. Even with kids messing about, she handled it brilliantly, explaining how they should behave so no one else got disturbed. When it quietened down, she had a little chat with us, and she was so warm and lovely β made us feel right at home. Cleanliness: The place was spotless. She was constantly wiping tables and washing her hands before touching food. She even explained what she was doing and asked us to give her a minute β proper good communication. Overall: Alisonβs is a proper hidden gem. Itβs cozy, the foodβs amazing, and the sense of community is something special. Honestly, itβs well worth a visit β you wonβt regret it. Oh, and the tea? Comes in a proper mug β just like at home.

Sister treated me to Pensioners Mini Fish meal and can only compliment the friendliness of all the staff as well as the quality of the cod fish being the best I have tasted from 3 chippies I have used over last few weeks

My friend and myself went to try it out , my friend ordered fish chips and peas with a coke to drink I had fish and peas and a tea to drink the food was ok but the Β£15-5+ was a bit expensive. Because of that I won't rate it

Terrible service - was ignored on entry only me in the shop, eventually placed my order when the young girl came off her phone - then without a single world picked up a pad and pen and went over to the tables to do their orders even though arrived behind me. Just gave up and walked out definitely won't be back either. A smile or just taking these orders, won't be a minute anything but totally being ignored. Good luck hope you get a better service than I did!
