We came for breakfast with Santa and what a fabulous time we had. The staff were fantastic from start to finish, very welcoming and attentive as well as really engaging with the kids to make the whole occasion feel festive and fun. The breakfast was absolutely gorgeous, really good quality ingredients and cooked to perfection. Can’t wait to come back and sample the rest of what they offer.

My parents were over from Ireland, so we took them to The Thorn Inn on Friday evening. We didn’t have any particular expectations and were simply looking for a nice local place to eat, but I have to say we were genuinely delighted. The food was excellent, everyone really enjoyed their meals and the atmosphere was so lovely that we ended up staying much longer than planned. The service was fantastic too. Our waitress, Maisy, was wonderful, she went above and beyond to make sure we were all looked after and was especially sweet with my three-year-old, which is such a thoughtful touch when you’re dining out as a family. All the staff that night were lovely! We’ll definitely be back. It’s so nice to have a place this lovely so close to home.

I can only describe my Sunday roast today as exceptional. The turkey melted in the mouth and the gammon was really tasty without being too salty. Veg perfectly cooked and I could have drank the gravy!! Great value too. Izzy looked after us very well. Pub itself has a lovely cosy atmosphere and the radiators were hot unlike many other pubs. Would highly recommend.

Came today with my sister. Had the turkey and gammon roast dinner. Absolutely delicious. We loved it. Very reasonable prices too. All the staff were lovely. Special thanks to Izzy who served us and compliments to the chef who has done a superb job.

Best Sunday Dinner I’ve had for a while. Roast beef with all the trimmings, served well done or pink. Nicely cooked, huge portion, delicious gravy! We arrived just after 12 and the place was already busy but the staff coped well and were very pleasant. Well done Thorn Inn!

Beautiful building in a very picturesque location, the decor is spot on the service seamless and professional. The quality of the food, just normal pub, expected more and better.

All our food was extremely bland. Roast potatoes were not home cooked. Everything frozen. Veg looked like steam in the bag microwave veg. The price did not reflect the food atall. Woukdnt mind if it was cheap. Kids were extremely small portion sizes and microwave everything. Would not recommend atall. Possibly the worst roast dinner I've ever had out.

We stopped in this pub by chance as it was on the route to the Harry Potter Forbidden Forest Experience. We arrived about 5pm on a Saturday. Ample space, welcoming staff and a good atmosphere. I had the stake and ale pie which was enormous and very tasty. Great value for money. Note: If we had arrived an hour later, about 6pm, we would have struggled to get a table without pre-booking.

Very welcoming, staff very helpful, nothing was too much trouble. However, we detected that the pub was short staffed - one lady and one young man and presumably a chef in the kitchen. The food was excellent and well presented. Recommend The Thorn.

Friendly place, including allowing me to take my spaniel in with me. Lovely real fire which was excellent on a cold November day. Just been in again with friends and once again very friendly. Food was excellent. My friend described his pie as the best he has ever had in a pub?
