I love Turkish food and this is the worse I have ever had. A cheap tomato puree rubbed on each dish and doesn't taste nice either. We ordered rib eye steak, Adaana, and kofte. All had tomato puree on it and not a very nice atmosphere either. Someone living room is converted to a resturant. Dont go here and waste time and money please.

Love this restaurant. We had booked a large family gathering pre Christmas and we had a great experience. The service was excellent and the food really tasty and well cooked. Good choices of wines- typically 2 £25 + but really nice.

I haven’t visited Alev for a while and came tonight to see the menu has slightly changed , it’s been redecorated and there were staff members i haven’t seen before which wasn’t an issue at all. I had high hopes as i have always enjoyed visiting but i was greatly disappointed. Food was as nice as usual but it was more the service that has gone downhill. We were sat straight away for our booking for 7pm and were asked for our drinks. Shortly after, we were asked what food we wanted but hadn’t even been given food menus yet. Rather than apologising she blamed another member of staff. Our starters arrived at 8:00pm. We were given an extra portion of garlic bread that was meant to come with the main meals which then the waitress took this back to the kitchen and came back out eating it saying ‘thanks for that i’m starving’ and then our mains came at 9:00pm. Long wait compared to other visits but not the worst it could of been. One of our party asked for the sea bass and requested for the head to be cut off to which this same waitress replied ‘oh i don’t know about that they are really busy’ and went to ask the chef before taking the order. If you’re paying for food surely you should be able to have it the way you like to eat it? Mid way through taking orders she would interrupt to talk to other staff members and also take phone calls on the landline. There was a function party in the upstairs that seemed to take the whole priority over the other customers in the downstairs seating area when really every customer should be made to feel just as important. Staff were getting heated with each other in front of customers and delivery drivers/ those collecting food orders which was off putting and it seemed to be most of the girls were targeting the male waiter the whole night when he was just trying to help out and do his job, treating him horribly, talking awful behind the bar and making snarky remarks about him to us. I just felt so sorry for him and could see the way it made him feel by his face. Most restaurants will play background music but here it was loud pop music which was quite distracting when trying to have conversations with people. We were seated next to a fire door leading to outside that staff would frequently use and leave open which in winter is not ideal to be sat freezing at the table, especially when staff are also sat there smoking too. I brought a birthday balloon with us for the table as we were celebrating my partners birthday and no member of staff even said happy birthday. Comparing this to last year when we came for the same occasion, the staff at the time sang happy birthday putting music on, candles into his dessert and giving it to him for free. We asked for the bill and after paying the waitress had pulled a chair to sort out our separate payments and said ‘i’m just going to sit with you all now, can’t be arsed getting up now that i’ve sat down.’ Don’t think we will be returning any time soon.

If I only had one word to sum up this restaurant then it would be "amazing". The food was unbelievable, the waiters and waitresses were very nice, helpful and looked like they enjoyed their job, and the actual setting of the restaurant was excellent, they've not gone cheap and it shows. I looked at the menu and some things I'd already tried before at other restaurants and some things I'd never heard or had. We ordered two starters, one was something wrapped in bay leaves (if I remember right) and drizzled with lemon juice, I'll be honest I usually don't like veg wrapped in anything like wontons, but all I can say is WOW. To sum it up you won't be disappointed quality restaurant from the tip to the toe, it shows, it tastes and it exuberates on all levels. You won't be disappointed!

We have been here many times now. Food is always good, massive portions and fast too. The staff are always friendly, cheerful and entertaining. They know our drinks order without us having to say it now. Would definitely recommend.

Fab night. Went here for my works Christmas meal. Good was fab and so tasty. Belly dancer was good. Only thing that let it down, was it got very warm inside, we had to ask for a window to be opened. Great prices and great choice though

Absolutely love it in here. The food is superb, very authentic, great portion sizes and reasonably priced. There’s just one thing though…when the dancer is on, does the music need to be so loud? You literally can’t hear yourself speak and that lasts for half an hour (or more if they forget to turn it down). Other than that, it’s a fab little place.

We ordered takeaway but technical issue meant when I arrived the order hadn’t gone through. The staff were great. I got my order in quickly and was given a complimentary beer while I waited. The restaurant had a lovely feel and was busy fir a Sunday evening, always a good sign. After getting home, the food was superb, loads of it and all was great. The boneless chicken thighs were especially good as was the Baklava. Great to have fabulous Turkish in Widnes. Will be back a lot!!!
