Ordered 3 large chips for a sleepover. Got 3 small boxes with about, what, 30-40 chips? A bit undercooked and weirdly oily vinegar. I don't know if we got a tail-end batch or if it was the usual standard, but I wouldn't recommend the chips. Sausages were average chippy sausages, nothing special. All in all, it was a bit disappointing.
Ended up trying here because our regular place was closed. Now we have a new regular place. Lovely fish, brilliantly battered, great chips, friendly and helpful, and had enough haddock in for a (very) big family order.
First time at the Cod and Pollocks and was very pleased..the service was great and the food is cooked fresh ( chips not already partly done) but the batter on the fish is not crispy...fish done great but batter let it down...it was busy and fish was maybe rushed a bit but ENGLISH FISH AND CHIPS should be crispy
Popped in with family after a visit to Marbury Park. Everyone was very happy with their food and the service was excellent. Lovely lady who served us with a smile and didn’t mind that our young lad wasn’t eating. Good banter from other customers too, clearly a well liked little local place. It’s small and basic but hits the spot… and proper mushy peas!
We go most weeks. Kids love the slushys. Best chippy around and lovely service. Highly recommend

Huge portions, lovely fish and chips, my husband said the staff were all absolutely brilliant. It only loses a star because the batter was a bit thick for me but that is entirely personal preference.
By far the best chips I've ever had in England, how they make crinkle cut chippy chips blows my mind! Super soft and fluffy with plenty of crunch OMG will never go anywhere else again.
