What a lovely place to dine in. If I have to score them for hospitality, I would give then 110 out of 100. The waiting staff are fantastic. They are kind, suggest what should be the best for order and cater to your choice. A very homely atmosphere, fantastic food and generous portion. We have been living in sheffield for 7 years, never tried before, but they now got a regular diner :) They went out of their way to serve us authentic bangladeshi chai, which was probably not on the menu, such a beautiful gesture so that we could continue chatting with our friends little more. Thank you so much for serving us last night. Every staff was fantastic and food was great. Will see you again :)

Iβve been to Shapla many times now and always enjoy a good meal. My recent visit I opted for the Shapla Lamb Tikka special and it was excellent. The keema naan was superb and one of the best Iβve had, with loads of meat! Iβd recommend visiting when youβre in Sheffield as you wonβt be disappointed. The only negative for me is it is often quiet which impacts the atmosphere a bit and a real shame as itβs a warm and friendly restaurant thereβs very welcoming and supported with great service.

Perfectly reasonable old school curry house, a little old fashioned in decor but none the worse for that. Very clean and tidy looking which counts for a lot in my book. Very very friendly staff, the mix starter for 4 was plentiful and tasty. The pickle tray which came with it was bountiful. Huge. Licenced place, the usual cobra on tap. I was slightly less impressed with my curry as it meant to be quite spicy and was in fact slightly bland. The chunks of lemon in the lemon rice were a touch too chunky for my taste. So, fine if you are dropping by, order a hot one if you want a medium one, thinknabout the mixed starter as that's a triumph, and choose fairly conservatively beyond that.

An authentic, friendly restaurant in a drab area of Sheffield, but the best naan bread I've ever tasted! Very attentive service and fresh coriander garnishing good sized portions of food. The dishes, when brought from the kitchen could have been thermally hotter, but were placed on extremely hot chafing dishes which kept them warm. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and will certainly return. Very very reasonable prices indeed for January 2023.

Despite coming late we were served without fuss. Phenomenal food. Proper spicy options if that is what you want and the milders choices would disappoint either. Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. I can guarantee you wont be disappointed. I will certainly be back soon

Classic British Asian cuisine in beautiful surroundings with booths. Polite and professional staff. Food itself was delicious with large pieces of meat and plenty of spice. I have seen the criticism that this isn't authentic and has "70s style" decor. I would say many people want the classic British curry house experience with British Asian cuisine, and Shapla does that excellently.

Wow, this may have been the best curry I have ever eaten. The Shapla Chutney(the red one) was like nothing I have ever tasted, something berry-like with lime, mint, onion seeds, and chili. The bread was made from fresh dough and cooked to perfection, crispy on the bottom with a little spring in the middle. The salad and the mains were made with fresh veg. The restaurant itself and the dining experience is a little old-fashioned 70s-80s cliche. This can be tacky and uncomfortable, but the Shapla pulls it off, as furnishings and decor were of good quality, and the staff came across as genuinely polite and helpful, to the point I enjoyed every moment. The restaurant was cash only but I won't score them down as they have there own ATM out side the restaurant.

If you never tried Indian - Bangladeshi food this is a good place to start. They have a great menu and many dishes to choose from, even if you are not into spicy food or you donβt eat meat. The food taste so amazing itβs almost unbelievable. Definitely coming back. They take cash payments only but they have an ATM machine right outside. Service and facilities are right in order. Really nice experience.
