Xmas eve. Visited the dolphin after a long time away. Ordered salt & pepper chicken X2, fried rice salt & pepper chips. Salt and pepper chicked. More like salt & pepper batter, NO CHICKEN AT ALL. Fried Rice. Bland. No taste. Will not be returning.
Hate to leave crappy reviews but there's far better chippies nearby. Delivery took ages, the chips were soggy to the point where the paper disintegrated and the chicken balls are sickly greasy (but fully cooked at least). Omelette had burned bits in it too, just a big bag of technically edible disappointment.
Ordered via the website with a wait time of 1hr. After an hour and whale wait we called to ask where the food was, said the driver was 5 mins away, 20 mins later we called again to be told the same story. Called 30 mins later to say the driver is in our road and he wasn’t . When the food turned up over 2hrs later with many untold truths the food was stone cold. We asked for a refund and was told no microwave the food as the driver won’t come back. We offered to take the food back and they said no as it could have been messed with. Which doesn’t make sense if the driver came to collect it. Unfortunately we won’t order from here again due to the lies we were told.
Every time been here they get order wrong. Everthing is greasy. And if you can find a fish in batter good luck happy fishing
Always very busy so tells its own story. Food is always very good and service time is good considering how busy it always is. Prices have gone up a good bit now tho so can't warrant 5 stars.
The food is delicious probably best fish & chip shop in town.
I come to Runcorn to visit friends and they highly recommended the dolphin, I was surprised, the food is amazing and huge portions at a reasonable price. I can’t wait to visit again, absolutely delicious, very well organised for such a busy chippy and friendly staff. Just the little touches like the fortune cookies for the kids.
So went to the chippy to grab some grub for me and the missus now I don't mind the dolphin sometimes but giving a one star due to customer service I literally stood at the front to place my £30 Order waited until they say how can I help what would you like to order instead waited for over 5 minutes still no one seen to me then instead of asking to call Me over as I was waiting they call over someone else but had to spend my money next door in the co op all was after was a family meal there loss of £30 feedback would be is when customer is stood there for over 30 seconds or longer approach the customer within the first ten seconds of them arriving or if you are busy advise you be with them in minute at least then you have made them aware that you have noticed them honestly really disappointed in service
