Our recent visit to Juniper in Shevington, Wigan, was a delight from start to finish. The food was simply beautiful, not only in flavour but also in its impeccable presentation. You can genuinely tell the quality of the ingredients and the skill in the kitchen. The service was equally impressive. The young serving staff deserve immense praise; they were professional, attentive, and handled our table with great care and efficiency. They are truly a credit to the restaurant and a testament to excellent training. What makes this place stand out even more is that the prices are very reasonable considering the exceptional quality of the dishes. We thoroughly enjoyed every course. We will certainly be returning soon and would wholeheartedly recommend Juniper to everyone!

From start to finish, our dining experience was superb. The food was not only excellent but every dish was beautifully presented. The quality and taste were absolutely fabulous. The service was just as impressive; the staff were friendly, professional, and incredibly efficient. This was our first time dining here, and we're already looking forward to our next visit. This restaurant is a true gem."

Visited lunchtime for my birthday. My partner's daughter is good at recommending places and this was no exception. Warm welcome and attentive service throughout. Menu was not all that extensive, but making a final choice between two or three of the main dishes was (in the nicest possible way) not easy. Eventually plumped for the roast beef, which was very well presented and was delicious. The roast potatoes could've been a little larger, but the vegetables were lovely. Not a fan of horseradish, but here it worked perfectly. Full marks for presentation of my dessert, the mango and passionfruit pavlova (see picture).

We had booked a table upstairs but were seated downstairsβlikely because we arrived early and the restaurant wasnβt too busy yet. That wasnβt a big issue for us. The starters were absolutely amazing, and the desserts were just as impressiveβfull of flavor and beautifully presented. Service throughout was attentive, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. However, we were a bit let down by the Sunday Roast. While the portion of beef was generous, the accompanying vegetables felt a bit sparse. The horseradish overpowered what could have been lovely carrots and swede. The mashed potatoes were excellent, but the cabbage with bacon lacked flavor, and the roast potatoes were underwhelming. The gravy also missed the markβit could use a bit more depth. With a few small tweaks to the main course, especially the sides and gravy, the meal could have matched the exceptional quality of the starters and desserts.

We had a a delightfully delicious lunch today at Juniper. The food was cooked to perfection for both of our meals with lovely flavours. We were so impressed we are looking forward to celebrating our Golden Wedding anniversary later on in the year with our family of foodies, but will obviously visit again before then. Particular favourite of mine was the pork belly which was tender and so tasty. It was nice to meet the talented chef at our table and Rob made our experience very comfortable with the right amount of welcome, service and information. A great introduction to this little gem. Thank you

The best restaurant in Wigan? I think I'm going to have to say with confidence that this is indeed Wigan's best restaurant. The food, especially for the Β£20.50 for a three course lunch menu is superb. I don't think anybody could do better for that price. Highly recommended.

Situated in a stone built cottage, the main dining area is on the first floor, with a few tables below at ground level. We were warmly greeted and shown to our table. The menu offered a good selection of starters and mains without being diluted by too many options. Our mains of Persian lamb with couscous and mangalitza pork were delicious and cooked to perfection, with a lovely marbling of fat in the pork. A good selection of desserts were offered which again were excellent. Good beers and cocktails made this a memorable evening.

We had a family lunch here today. The food and service were both excellent. The menu has something for everyone. The produce used is very good quality. The Children's menu had good choices too and substantial portions.
