We had a fabulous Christmas lunch with 6 adults and 6 kids. The chef happily accommodated a couple of menu tweaks...including a very tasty sword fish roast. Really enjoyed our visit and will return! Thanks team black horse xx

I would count myself as a "Pub Pie" connoisseur and generally quite hard to please. This pie was simply outstanding. Home made, perfect pastry, delicious filling and great portion size. A 9.5 out of 10 and easily in my top 10 pies of all time. The service and atmosphere were also great, accommodating well for me arriving in a hangry state.

Finding a good Sunday lunch is the holy grail for us and the Black Horse really delivered. It was busy, but the atmosphere and service was welcoming and unhurried. The pub the quintessential old village green pub, complete with cosy log fires. As vegetarians the we both ordered the seasoned vegetable wellington, the only thing wrong with it was the palate wasn't big enough to contained the generous portion and the gigantic Yorkshire pudding. The food was spot on, we were too full for dessert. This pub is a cut above the offerings elsewhere. A true gem.

Visited for a friends BIG Birthday and was given one of the outdoor huts - it was so lovely overlooking the common and they had even put balloons in for us. The staff were super attentive and the food was delicious, perfect sized portions too!! We also had a few celebratory cocktails - HIGHLY recommend a visit *****

Been meaning to leave a review for a very long time, however managed to forget..probably due to the fantastic friendly service we always receive from the team. We are always welcomed with open arms and the team bend over backwards to accommodate us. I must shout out the whole team… they’re all amazing… however, Becks has served us since we first started coming here, since moving in locally, before Jason the Head Chef joined, she was the main reason for our return. Jason joined, the food has been out of this world… I would recommend the roasts - they’re delicious! The beef is served pink and the vegetables are cooked perfectly and well seasoned. It’s always a pleasure coming to visit The Black Horse and we cannot recommend it enough. Final shout out to Becks, Jason… our favourites… and of course Harry, Layla, Ben, Jess, Jack and Ollie. ❤️❤️❤️

Superb food, cosy feel to great pub. Pie of the day and lamb flatbread with Feta and pomegranate- absolutely delicious. Followed by hazelnut praline cheesecake with white rum ice cream - generous portion of flavourful heaven.

What a Gem of a place. Seemingly, in the middle of nowhere. Arrived by taxi from Uxbridge, booked a table prior to a evening's entertainment cabaret show at the local Memorial hall, "When we are Married". The Black Horse, is warm and inviting, we stopped though not long enough to get a drink as Franco the host ushered us through to the restaurant and upgraded our table seeing that we were quite burly lads. We took a prime table with surround views of the entire establishment. Was warm and cosy with the din of family and friends in full conversation and laughter. For aperitif we had a Negroni and my brother had a Aperol spritz and a bottle of white wine with the mains. I had a Slow cooked Pork belly with Savoy cabbage and dauphinoise and an additional dauphinoise, an absolutely and fabulous meal the entire meal was delightful. Will cherish the fabulous moments and foodie memories (yum-yum). Staff were very accommodating and Chef was as pretty as her food delicious. I wanted to stay, though sadly had to go.

Incredibly charming atmosphere. Great food and friendly staff. I highly recommend the sea bass for a tasty and healthy option. The location is lovely - set in a standalone building right next to the large Chorleywood Commons park, you feel very much in the countryside.

Had a great Sunday roast here. Easy online booking and friendly welcome saw us into our heated ‘pod’. Excellent and perfectly timed service from great staff, and my roast chicken was delicious, fresh and well presented. Stuffing was only available as a side order which seems strange, but it was worth the additional fiver.

Nice large country pub/restaurant. We went in a Sunday and the menu has some nice roasts on it. Deserts were nice too and the service came with a smile. It gets quite busy in the weekends and parking is a bit of a challenge.
