Not local to the area so searched online - saw Marie’s and decided to come and check it out. I was not disappointed! A sign of a good chippy, Marie’s had a queue doubled over and out the door waiting. Good menu with lots of choice, fish, sausage, pies and scallops as well as your usual carton choices peas curry and gravy. I noticed the friendly atmosphere (everyone in the shop seemed to know each other) the servers were lovely. The food is VERY reasonably priced! The gravy is like no other I’ve tasted and I loved it, and the mushy peas were bang on. Tasty for a great price you can’t go wrong here.

Heard so much great news about Marie's chippy. So decided to try for my self. Ordered £6 fish and chips. Got home to find the fish was not full of cod and lots of batter(chewy)...The chips where nothing special either small and chewy.. (not crispy) Both the chips and fish was Luke warm. Not sure why people say Marie's chippy is great. It was a great let down. Will not be visiting again Ever. Such a rip off.

Quality chippy that just do a traditional chippy menu. Not jacks of all trades, just masters of what they do. Best in the town.

Marie's used to be the best Fish & Chip Shop in the town but now, just resort to serving warmed up Chips half cooked from the day before. I wouldn't refry a plate of chips I had left uneaten the day before and yet people now accept that from most Chippies. Paul's Chippy located half a mile up the road (Derby Road) serve much nicer food 7 days a week. Marie's Chippy is unsurprisingly never very busy any more, a shame because their food used to be amazing.

Best chippy in Widnes lovely food and equally nice staff. Good prices just wish they opened every tea time rather than just Thursday and Friday going here for dinner today
