   I visited St James last week to celebrate my anniversary with my partner and we opted for their tasting menu. We met both Harris and Alfonso who were super friendly and welcoming and excited for us to try their exquisite food! We appreciated the attention to detail with the addition of flowers on our table. Each dish was beautifully presented and tasted absolutely delicious! The portions were the perfect size and they had a lovely selection of wines to choose from. We had a wonderful evening here and congratulations to the team for the restaurants 27th anniversary! I’ve already recommended this location to my friends and family, many of whom are keen to book in for dinner soon. I will definitely be coming back here and thank you so much for helping to create a wonderful memory with my loved one.

   Came here for a private party and the food was lovely. The room was really nicely laid out for a big group and the staff were really polite and helpful. We had food from the set menu and it was all delicious. Highly recommend.

   Fantastic place for dinner! Went for a private event and food and service was at top notch standards. This local eatery managed to not only serve everyone's food promptly, but also wonderfully cooked and beautifully presented. Which is no mean feat when the entire restaurant is booked out and everyone is offering off the menu! There were friendly staff constantly offering drinks, and checking if we needed anything. They did this in an unobtrusive way and always with a smile. Toilets were clean and tidy. Parking was fine and there is a local car park less then 5 mins walk away.

   A wonderful experience. Really nice Sunday lunch. Nice to see a selective menu done well. Great food. Between us I think we had most options covered. I recommend the lamb. Desserts finished off the meal perfectly. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Even the owner mingling with the diners and stopped for a chat. Plan to return very soon.

   This is definitely the place for a celebration or a quiet dinner for 2. Lovely ambience, attentive wait staff and yummy food. Managed a pic of our 2 starters - salt beef and watercress soup. I recommend the haddock or fillet steak main and the Toblerone cheesecake was sublime.

   We've eaten here a few times but I was disappointed with the vegetarian Valentine's options. There was little imagination in the fusilli which, although tasty, was vastly overpriced even with the half mushroom. The chickpea starter was tastier but hardly inspiring, but the desserts made up for it with a lovely share plate for 2 ♥️

   Good food with good wine list. Owner came over to introduce himself too, so nice touch. Setting was good and attentive service. Portions are appropriate size making an easy decision for three courses. House champagne was good and not too costly. It does get busy.
