   Been using Allerton Fish Bar for many years. But , on 01.01.2024spent £57 fo for 6 adults and 3 kids andwas very very disappointed. All meals looked like they had been made days ago , fish was hard incentre and batter soggy, the sweet and sower chicken was hard and sauce ,what rhere was of it, was congealed. Same for other meals. Chips were limp. I know it was a busy time but this standard was disgraceful.i will think twice before buying from you again. You need to work hard to retain your previous excellent reputation..

   Been coming here for years. Food is generally really good, but a recent visit put that to rest. Ordered Fish and chips. Couldn't cut the fish up it was that tough, Chips seemed like warm ups, in fact I think the whole meal seemed like it was left over from the lunch time service. The women in there need to stop talking amongst themselves and acknowledge the customers I'll be going elsewhere from now on. Shame really, as this used to be the best place for fish and chips.

   Mid afternoon visit so was empty. Order had to be made specially so had to wait 5-10 mins. Staff very pleasant. Food was delicious. Portions smaller than I would like but enough for most. On street parking available but road very narrow.

   Hit and miss. Seems to depend on if boss is on duty and the time of day. 7pm today. Fish dry, peas cold, steak pie pastry like a hard biscuit. Chips were good. Service was fast, yet would prefer to wait a few minutes and get freshly served stuff than the dried out offerings of tonight. 2nd time been disappointed. Maybe time to try other local chip shop!

   We had heard good things about the Allerton Fish Bar and we were finally in the area to try it. The staff were taking COVID precautions and limiting the number of people inside. The service was quick and friendly with the fish being cooked to order. Overall the food was good. The batter on the fish was good but a little salty for our taste. Personally the chips were OK but did not match the high expectations that had been set.
