   We went there with some friends, as we occasionally do. The food was, as ever, excellent and the service was very friendly and prompt. The decor is great and the hygiene is excellent. But I have only given one star for atmosphere - trouble is, there is too much of it! In other words, it was one of the noisiest restaurants I have ever visited. It was bad enough when we arrived but after about fifteen minutes two young gentleman came to sit at a table next to ours; one of them had a loud and strident voice and insested on yelling to his companion, who himself was quietly spoken. So, if you are going merely for the food and don't want to talk to your companions, that's fine - just bring earplugs. If you want to speak to those with you, then go elsewhere. In our case, it ruined what would otherwise be a great evening. It's not the fault of the staff or even the noisy diners. It's the hard surfaces on the walls, with nothing to absorb the noise. I have been to many restaurants much larger and with more people and there is just a general background hubbub rather than a painful racket. I don't think the management are worried about this as they get lots of diners in who don't seem to mind. I don't think they'd care if we never went back so in future we shall just meet elsewhere. But I do feel worried that the staff who work there might suffer damage to their hearing by being exposed to this racket for hours on end, day in, day out.

   There was a lot of umming and aahing when it came to the star count here. I tend to lean on the harsher side when rating places. However there are a number of things to consider here, 1. It's kosher 2. It's Chinese, a rare commodity and thus it is decided it should be a 4. And it's not far off earning that. The staff are a little distant even when the restaurant is empty, but once you do raise there attention everything comes together. They did also let us swap a few items around so that was nice. The food it's self is pretty good. It's all tasty and we'll servered, it's just a shame a couple of dishes had obviously been waiting to come out (again the restaurant was empty) and had started to get cold. One or two dishes just didn't do them selfs justice but overall it was as stated pretty good. The biggest shame here is that they have obviously tried to stay competitive and not raise there prices. But instead portions are now smaller, achieving the same goal without the consumer noticing.....as much The set menu does seem to make the most sense and covers all the bases. I guess the only thing left if you have read this far....is to try it for your self!

   A very nice meal. We had the imperial hors d'oeuvres and they kindly swapped the sesame toast for chicken wings, which was good service. The duck in pancakes was good. We shared crispy chilli beef, sweet and sour chicken, sizzling lamb, egg fried rice, noodles and beansprouts and green beans between 3 people. There was plenty of food. The sizzling lamb was a bit disappointing but the rest was good. It could have been hotter. For dessert we shared toffee bananas and lyches with ice cream - both were good. They add on 15% service charge

   Very pleasant dining experience. Ambiance was good. Not noisy at all. Staff are well presented, attentive but not too pushy. Food was delicious and plentyful. Prices are reasonable. All in all a very pleasant evening out. Highly recommended.
