Great rice, not too fussed on the bland Nan bread though. Very quick service and great value for money. Very fatty meet though but tasty Dhal which was a pleasant surprise.
Well looking at the previous 1 star reviews something seems a little off like there is a new competitor in the area trying to taint this business, Have been going to Al Amin for 30 years and loved every meal ive ever had without a single complaint. 5 Stars guys keep it up.
I bought Lamb biriyani and chicken tandoori from here. TBH, nice aroma and spices plus everything was delicious. Extra gravy for everything was handy.
If I Could Give Minus 5 Stars, I Would – A Masterclass in How Not to Run a Takeaway Ah, Al-Min. The place that somehow manages to disappoint in new and exciting ways every single time. I’ve been a grand total of five times – not because I enjoyed it (heaven forbid), but because my friend kept saying, “Maybe it’ll be better this time.” Spoiler alert: it never was. If anything, it got worse. I’ve honestly had more consistency from a broken vending machine. Let’s talk about the food – or as I now call it, the culinary lottery where everyone loses. The korma? One visit it’s sweet and watery, the next it’s thick and bland, and just today, it arrived so spicy I genuinely had to check I hadn’t accidentally ordered a vindaloo. Imagine being betrayed by a korma. A korma. The mildest dish on Earth. That’s when you know things are truly off the rails. And don’t even get me started on the chicken. I’ve had dry chicken before, but this was something else. It’s like they slow-roast it in a desert for 12 hours before serving. I’ve seen sandpaper with more moisture. After the first visit, I gave them the benefit of the doubt – “maybe just a bad day,” I thought. But no, it’s their signature move. They’ve somehow perfected the art of murdering chicken twice – once when it was alive, and again in the kitchen. Then we have the chicken pakora, a dish so depressing it could start its own therapy group. I found out (to no one’s surprise) that they don’t even make them in-house. They’re bought in from some random supplier and chucked in the fryer, possibly reheated with nothing but disdain. Dry? Obviously. Tasty? Absolutely not. But the cherry on this culinary disaster? I choked on a bone in one. A literal bone. I called them to let them know, thinking maybe they’d care. Silly me. They couldn’t have been less interested if they tried. No apology, no concern, not even a token “we’ll look into it.” Just pure, unbothered indifference. Customer service? Practically non-existent. Food quality? An insult to taste buds. Consistency? Only in how bad it is. I’ve given this place more chances than it ever deserved, and today was the final insult. So here it is: I will never go back. Ever. Neither will our group, nor our families, nor any poor soul I can warn in time. The only thing Al-Min has ever delivered successfully is disappointment – piping hot and always on time. If you’re after rubbery chicken, mystery spice levels, and outsourced pakora with a side of negligence – by all means, give it a go. Otherwise, do yourself a favor and go literally anywhere else. One star, only because zero isn’t an option. And minus five sadly isn’t a thing… yet.
First time We had a takeaway from here on Friday. The chicken tikka masala was lovely, but there was too much sauce. the naan bread was cold and stale. Also, the onion bhaji's were hard and not nice. It's a bit of a letdown after hearing good things about the place.
Honestly, it's nice depending what chef cooks your food! Unfortunately as it's inconsistent sometimes it's great an other times it's really bad!
Order was collected and totally wrong once we got it home. Ruined xmas eve meal to be honest and for over £30 not happy
Been coming quite a lot lately food is normally nice but tonight we got something different which included a chicken kebab which was absolutely disgusting the menu reads chicken marinated in herbs and spices but when we opened it it was dry chicken which hasn’t been marinated at all covered in onions and a crazy amount of garlic paste, was also swimming in oil. Should be called garlic fried chicken or something. We phoned up but after arguing for 20 mins we gave up. they was saying that’s what it says on the menu, nowhere does it say chicken covered in garlic paste. They eventually said they would swap it but after nearly half a hour I couldn’t justify the 20 min drive so it went in the bin.
