Popped into Smithdown Spitroast today for my usual protein diet fix of chicken breast, eggs and some sweet potato mash. The food was hot and delicious, as always. I find this restaurant to be the best chicken Rotisserie eatery I have ever been in. I used to be a fairly occasional visitor here but find myself eating here three times a week now for lunch. I just can't keep away! All credit to the wonderful team of Michaela, Chloe, Emma, Elise, Siobhan and Miriam led by the glamorous Ciara! Not to mention the tireless team working hard in the kitchen providing yummy meals. The atmosphere here is relaxed and friendly. You are guaranteed a warm welcome and their Loyalty card is very generous. Will be glad to return again and again!

Chicken – Juicy, tender, and packed with flavour. Easily some of the best rotisserie chicken in the city. Perfectly seasoned, with a squeeze of lemon to lift it. 9.5/10 Mac & Cheese – Creamy, indulgent, and topped with crispy onions for texture. Comfort food at its finest. 8.5/10 Loaded Fries – Generous portion, smothered in sauce with tender pulled chicken. A messy but delicious must-order. 8/10 Wing Roulette – Spicy, fiery fun. You’ll need a drink on standby, but worth it for the kick. 9/10 Service – Staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely cared about the experience. 10/10 Overall – A Liverpool gem. Comfort food, great vibes, and service that makes you want to return. 9/10

The staff were really nice and service was great too, but unfortunately the food wasn't the best. The flatbreads werent fresh and the chicken was very dry. Overpriced considering the quality. The Falafels were the best thing we tried

AMAZING CHICKEN SUNDAY ROAST. Huge portions, every item on the platr was delicious. £12 for a meal not bad but totally worth it. The interior is cosy and trendy and the staff are very friendly. Will go back many more times!

Summary: Based on ordering from the Sunday Lunch Menu. Great portion size for the mains and the food was very tasty and very well presented. The person serving was helpful and friendly. The price was about average. Maybe could have had a mini pot of extra gravy served with the meal. Just for those gravy lovers out there. Overall though definitely a place to go for a decent Sunday Roast and if I lived in the area could imagine going as a regular. Some detail: So we were driving on the way to watch the afternoon Liverpool game and were browsing many places to have some lunch. We came across Spitroast and it was Sunday why not go for roast. The restaurant itself is just off the corner of the street. Now unfortunately if you are driving there is not any main street parking, not the restaurants fault. But you will have to find some parking on the side streets just off the main road. So be aware for this particular location. The inside of the restaurant has a very calm and cosy atmosphere making it a nice place to sit inside and enjoy your meal. They do provide the main menu and the Sunday lunch menu on a Sunday. The Sunday lunch menu is more than enough in my opinion to choose from. You can look ahead at the menu on their website which is easy to navigate. But between the 4 of us that day we had the Roast Chicken Dinner each. Falafels, Chicken Won-Tons and the Molten Chocolate Fudge Cake. We were going to have the Sticky Toffee Pudding unfortunately they were out which was a shame. One point of note which I thing all restaurants should do. Is to mention what is not available that day when providing the menu. Just to help customers make a choice. The starters are not too big and overall you do not want them to be based on the size of main. The starters were very well presented and tasted great. As I said its just enough to not fill you up before the main meal. When the mains came it was the portion size was large. Which is pleasantly surprising as it wasn’t just buffed up by the vegetables. The size of the half-chicken and amount of vegetables provided defiantly worth it. The main was also presented and cooked well. The gravy and vegetables were also delicious. It really filled me up. One of the best restaurant chicken roasts I have had in a while. Only one bad point is that I ordered vodka and apple juice. Was given an orange juice. Maybe I would have said something but the actual orange juice looked quite nice. Also I wasn’t particularly bothered that day what kind of juice I was having. Overall though this place from my experience if most defiantly a must try for a Sunday Chicken Roast. The food made up for the minor mistakes. I could see it becoming a larger franchise in the future if they keep up that quality.
