   I thought it was a bit strange for a couple of reasons. 1) we ordered and the food was ready in less than 4 minutes. It was incredibly fast. Now I don't know how long chicken satay needs but I longer than four minutes. This worries me. Plus it was quite expensive about £11 pounds. Anyway left with concerns rather than fulfillment. Update So I didn't arrive at 8.19pm that must be a different person and I usually say food is ok even when not great as just don't come back. It was impossible for the food to be prepared fresh on our visit. Well not going to argue just my observation.

   A long day traveling from Paris to London took all the energy out of us. We saw Meiwei restaurant as we checked in. I am Chinese. My wife is German/English. She dislikes Chinese food so I was surprised that she suggested Meiwei. She knew that I had a hankering for Chinese food since I had not had it for some 3 weeks. So she took one for the team. Clean, white tablecloths, a lively setting, prompt service and delicious and flavorful food. She declared Meiwei to be the best Chinese restaurant she had ever been to. We live in Chicago so there's no shortage of Chinese restaurants but this checked all her boxes. The only trouble is that we live thousands of miles away which is a shame.

   We were walking around Putney and we had a cravint for asian food but we always have had Korean or Thai so thid time we took a risk and decided to go for Chinese. Meiwei looks quite small and not too amazing from the outside but we were so wrong by judging it like that from the outside. Inside was spatious and it is nicely decorated. It really looks like a proper chinese restaurant. In terms of food, i have never tried something so tasty and good. They also have a lot of options in the menu. From dumplings to buns to chow mein and many other plates.... Honestly, I think you would have to go about 20 tines to get a good example of all the plates they have. The staff was super friendly and always tried to provide an excellent customer service. They also gave us some fortune cookies before leaving which wasn't expected. I believe Meiwei has a lot to offer and it is probably very underrated for what it actually offers. It honestly surprised me when I tried their food. I can definately recommend and say that it is one of the best restaurants in Putney by far.

   Came in Nov at 8pm for dine-in (4 pax) , managed to get table in this quaint little restaurant. Lots of choices. Menu in English. The food was done fast, are delicious and portioned well. Ordered lamb (japanese style) curry, seaweed egg soup, duck (flavouful) udon and stir fried long bean in sharing portion for 4 (GBP68).

   Nothing authentic about this place. Food is clearly just reheated and served almost instantly. No subtlety at all. Feels like all the dishes have come out of a packet. One of the poorest meals I have had in a very long time. Not cheap either. Avoid.
