Definitely agree with the other recent reviews, the cheese curds, gravy, and chips have all changed for the worse. The curds are now just cheese I think, and there were still chunks of gravy granules/cubes in my order. They're also offering a free dessert for a good review on google, so take that into account when considering the recent 5* reviews. All in all it's a shame. I would encourage the owners to go back to their winning model before they lose too many of their previously happy customers.

I thought Arne Slot's second season was the biggest drop off in Liverpool, but it seems Caribou are taking over the crown. Used to be absolutely 10/10 incredible when they were on Slater Street, but the move to Hanover St has done them no favours. They've gone really downhill over the last year or so. Had a few orders that were a 6 or 7 out of 10, but always gave them a chance as the next one was usually pretty good. Today's is the last straw. The maple bacon was absolutely inedible. The lovely sweet, salty, crispy bacon bits have been replaced by what looked like shoe leather, with no taste whatsoever - weirdly, it didn't even taste of bacon. The gravy was watery and the chips are definitely just frozen ones. Sorry Caribou, until you improve, we've ordered from you for the last time.

Been using this for years since I moved here and it’s always been amazing. Now I’m not sure what has happened as there’s has been a few signs but nothing that couldn’t have been a one off for a while. Until now…… Steak poutine and salt and pepper chicken is my go too. Steak poutine was burnt and not very tasty. The chicken had some weird soggy batter on it and zero flavour. Like my word it fallen off. Has there been a change as I can see it’s not just me I recommended it to so many before.

This place use to be the spot. Great fresh fries. Hot and crispy. Thick gravy and cheese curds (use to always get the quebec style squeeky) and the topping were amazing. Went today and got the salt and pepper chicken poutine. Asked for the squeeky curds and was told "we no longer do them". Expected to wait about 10 - 15 mins like usual and the food was out in 2 mins which was a red flag. The fries were only half warm, not crispy. Gravy is very different and not in a good way, kinda watery. cheese was fine if abit cold (not enough heat from everything else to melt it and it was kinda just like mozzarella, good pull but abit tastless) and the chicken was soggy before it was even in the gravy and texture was deff a downgrade compared to how it was. Also heard they changed to halal now so most of the meat topping have changed. No problem with adding halal options but changing old favs is bad, the miss piggy poutine with the pulled pork was the best! Place is apperently under new management with the old owners gone. Honestly iv never been more disappointed! And to top it they no longer do the cinnimon buns!! They were the best! Only saving grace was the friendly staff! Change back the menu and the quality or this place wont last much longer!

It was not bad, the cheese curds were a bit too melted for me so didn't have that much of a squeak to it, the fries and gravy were good though. Would still prefer Down the Hatch in Edinburgh for poutine.

Came here as my partner is Canadian and wanted to try their vegan poutine! I don’t eat poutine so I got a side of vegan chicken, (fyi they do come with veg I didn’t realise so we ordered one without as I wasn’t able to eat it) but I was very glad they did a plain version for me the chicken was great for a non vegan place. My partner said his poutine was incredible

Fab food excellent friendly service. Having quite a big choice as a veggie left me stumped but on the bright side is a reason to return to try an another dish.Independently owned which is another plus. Eat in or take away. They did have some cakes that also looked good but I couldn't finish my meal so had no room. Will deffo return (quite often I expect).

I’ve been wanting to get a takeout from this place for ages and I finally did it. So glad I did. I ordered using the UberEats app as I don’t live local to just drop in for food unless I’m already in town. The food was quick within the time limit they said, the food was amazing, it was well cooked and tasty. I ordered a side order of Salt’n’Pepper Chicken Poutine. Packed with lots of flavour (onions & peppers) with the seeds in to give the food that kick. It says you get about twenty pieces, tbh, I never counted as I was too busy enjoying it to worry as the portion size is good enough. I shouldn’t really have had anymore but I did!. I then enjoyed one of their Cinnabuns, packed with taste, covered in a homemade frosting and with a delicious cinnamon flavour, you really need to try these for a delivery.

I think maybe I am one of the first group trenchermen in Caribou Poutine. At the time that it was open, I was a new student in Liverpool. And after these recent years, I have graduated. In the past Liverpool was my Journey's start. Then everything changed, Liverpool changed to my Journey's end. But, The Poutine still so fabulous. Thank you very much. Salute for my youth! Salute for Liverpool! Salute for Caribou Poutine!
