   We reserved a table for 4 online in advance, in order to have an evening meal ahead of seeing our favourite band, Michael Armstrong’s Local Suspects who were playing there the same night. On arrival, we found our table was allocated in a perfect position for the band performance and we had a lovely meal. Food was great and surprisingly inexpensive, in comparison to other local similar pubs. A special heads up to the staff who were all very courteous and helpful. Will definitely revisit and hope they will book the band again. They are by far the best musicians you’ll ever find playing down your local pub! A great night out!

   Booked in for a set festive lunch for four of is on Wednesday the 10//12/25 We re led straight to our table which was nicely laid out with crackers and hats We were asked if we were ready for the food to be brought out and did we need any drinks We had pre ordered so they were prepared with the starter arriving very quickly With the main course followed as soon as they cleared away the plates from the starter. We all had ordered the turkey and trimmings they were hot and tasted lovely even the sprouts were great. we had ordered two Christmas puddings one cheese and biscuit and a truffle tort which i had it was delicious. You could not fault the service or the food. Well done to all at the woodman for a great day and lunch I will be back Thank you

   Great 'child's meal' combo £6, small fish &chips + ice cream, was more than satisfactory. Waitress very accommodating but run off her feet. Pub didn't smell good on entry

   Been in here many times over the years and it’s a fairly decent pub. Nice setting but always takes a while to get a drink. Went for Sunday lunch on the 22nd and it was really bad. Lack of experience in the bar which meant huge queues, 1hr 45min wait for food (had to ask for an update twice) and no apology when eventually served a pretty modest looking meal. Probably won’t be returning for food again. Small changes to process on busy days would probably make this a decent pub for lunch.

   Visited for Sunday Roast. The service I wouldn’t say it was the best, but the roast was excellent! Really liked the mashed potatoes and the meat (I chose the turkey option). Would definitely recommend! Dog friendly.

   Lovely local pub. Friendly staff. Dogs are very welcome inside (I counted 10 on my visit on a Sunday lunchtime in February!) Food is quick to come out. Big portions of traditional pub food and well cooked. Good children's menu too. Big garden that must be nice in summer. If I lived locally, I'd happily visit regularly.

   Booked Boxing Day lunch online at the woodman. When we arrived we were informed that because we booked online we were not down for having Christmas menu but everyday menu ( no crackers/ hats) even though this wasn’t written online! Very disappointed! As was my father and uncle in their eighties! Staff very unhelpful!

   An attractive spot with big garden and next to playground if one has nippers. Selection of beers are ok with Sussex on. Staff are a bit hit and miss so was hoping for better.
