We had a lovely time here after my son’s Confirmation. Brilliant food, served quickly, which was a feat considering how busy the place was. All the staff were very friendly and made our experience even better. Emily, the manager, answered all my questions when I was making the booking and ensured we got the prime spot - thank you! Fantastic place that I can definitely recommend x

Absolutely delicious vegan nut roast. Also loved my vegan chocolate cake (see pics). Would highly recommend both dishes. Great value too. Keen to come back to try the vegan Quorn chicken burger. The only thing I’d change about my roast was the gravy - more thought might go into it to improve the flavour and texture. A vegan Yorkshire pudding is always welcomed. Nevertheless it was still delicious and I would order it again! I’ve also left a positive review on Happy Cow (free vegan restaurant app).

When I went to the grumpy mole, although I was sat outside, service was great and food came out quickly and it wasn’t hard to call a waiter over to order more drinks. Sometimes when you’re outside, it’s easy to be forgotten about. I ordered the trio of roasts, it was good but not the best. The chicken, vegetables and cauliflower cheese were totally plain, had no flavour whatsoever but the roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding were good and the lamb and beef were okay, I was just happy it wasn’t tough. Although the roast was okay, it had ALL the trimmings which I appreciated. On the other hand, my friends ordered the fish and chips and banger and mash which were both fantastic. I tried both their meals and the fish was perfect, the batter was light and the fish had a good flavour , the chips were also nice and crispy. Regarding my friend’s banger and mash, the sausages had a fantastic flavour and mash was tasty too.

Super place and friendly staff, the sunday roast was amazing! May need to book a table as it does get quite busy! If your worried about sitting by the bar area don't be there was enough space !

Visited on a Wednesday evening, although we had a reservation, there were plenty of tables available and it wasn't too busy. We were shown to our tables promptly. Menu had a variety of choices, they usually have a pie and soup of the day so worth checking with the server. I ordered the calamari for starter and the moules marinieres for my main. The calamari was cooked perfectly, the hint of chilli added a nice kick to the dish. I've never eaten moules marinieres before and was pleasantly surprised by the dish. It came with fries and bread. My daughter ordered the chicken nuggets and chips, there's was nothing special about them - just standard nuggets and chips. For dessert I ordered the homemade squidgy meringue with red berries. This was the stand out dish for sure - not too sweet and the squidgy meringue was delicious. I liked the fact I had ordered the dessert to share and they served the dessert portion as two separate plates - nice touch. Overall a good experience, staff were attentive and food was good, would visit again. Only marking a star down due to the kids offering.

A very busy pub (needs booking ahead!) But one that had great food and fast friendly service from the staff. Had a vegetable soup to start and the Sunday chicken roast followed by chocolate brownie as per the photos.

Nice atmosphere with really pleasant staff. The food was presented well but was cool hence the cream has skinned over. Good sized meal with a good selection of wines and desserts too.

Popular local pub which feels more like a pricey restaurant. It also has a small garden with outdoor seating under cover. The food menu has plenty of options for mainly traditional pub dishes. We enjoyed our burgers, chicken and beef and also liked the shepherd's pie. Everything was tasty and nicely presented. The service was friendly and helpful. They only have two lagers and a couple of ales on draft so it's a bit of a limited selection for a pub. I also felt that the food prices were a bit higher than expected, a couple of pounds less on a price of a main dish would have been perfect in my view.
