The food was very good. We ordered the hummus, which was one of the best I've tried. I ordered the kofta kebab, which came with naans that were quite large, but very tasty. We were recommended by the staff to try the Gashta cream fatayer, which was delicious. Everything was reasonably priced and we had a great time as 4 students, local and international.

As nice as the food was, it fell a little short in some areas. The mixed grill was delicious, but we weren't fully satisfied with the Chicken and Lamb Kebabs. Don't get me wrong, they were still perfectly palatable and I wouldn't go as far as to say I wouldn't eat them again. Having said that, they were a tad dry. We were able to get around this thanks to the provided sauces. We couldn't fault the flavour and we could say the same for everything else on the mixed Platter. The Wings and the Lamb Chops were 10/10. They were reminiscent of the Wings and Lamb Chops we make on the BBQ at home on a nice Summers day. The Charcoal Grilled Chicken and Rice combination was also a hit. The accompanying Tomato Sauce was a perfect compliment to the rice. The food did take a while to be served, but we didn't mind as we arrived shortly after opening time and we were expecting a bit of a wait. It was close to being a 5 star experience if not for the Kebabs on the mixed Platter. It's still a 4 or 4.5/5 place if you also consider the price in the equation. Both of our meals plus a drink came to £21 and we were bursting at the end.

It's Yemeni cuisine .. "Fresh Almalky" is very small place where you can eat local Yemeni dishes .. Nothing is fancy here! I tried "Mandy", it was ok .. My expectation was higher .. Mandy is very well known dish in the middle east , so ya I was a little disappointed. The taste was malt, no spices, not really spectacular. The prices are reasonable anyway and the staff are very friendly too .. May be I will give them another try very soon for another dish .. 3 stars only for the friendliness.
