“Fantastic restaurant serving freshly cooked Palestinian food of a high standard and with lovely warm service that is attentive and efficient. We’ve eaten at many Middle Eastern restaurants and this is one the best we’ve been to. The Knafeh is excellent and ends a wonderful meal. We also loved the freshly squeezed orange juice and strawberry, mango and pineapple smoothie! If only they had Palestinian ice cream!”

The food was absolutely delicious — fresh, full of flavour, and beautifully presented. We tried a few different dishes, and everything was perfect. “From the moment we sat down, the whole experience just flowed—the kind of easy, confident service that lets you settle in and focus on the important stuff: the food. We kicked things off with the starter platter, and honestly? Every single item stole a tiny piece of my heart. Fresh, bold, nothing hanging around in the kitchen too long—the dishes landed on our table quicker than my nephew spots Pidgey (my pet pigeon) on the bannister. Then came the lamb shank… unbelievably tender. It didn’t just “fall off the bone”—it practically handed in its resignation. Silky, rich, and cooked with the sort of patience I wish my smart meter had. My wife’s dishes were just as impressive. Every bite looked like it transported her somewhere peaceful—meat and chicken both juicy enough to make you rethink every dry dish you’ve ever tolerated in life. I didn’t manage to grab photos of everyone else’s food, but trust me, the table was full of happy faces and clean plates. If you’re thinking about coming here for dinner, do it. The food’s on point, the service feels natural, and the décor gives the place a warm, modern charm. Fully recommend.”

“Thank you for the incredible food and excellent service at Shaam. Everything we ordered was beautifully presented and tasted delicious. I couldn’t help but notice the same care and attention given to the dishes on other tables as well, all accompanied by a wonderful aroma. The staff were friendly and went out of their way to make my birthday special by bringing out a slice of cake with a candle, creating a lovely atmosphere. My only suggestion would be to offer a variety of music, and we did notice a few bothersome flies from time to time.”

“This is a lovely restaurant. Went on a Saturday night around 8pm and it was busy but not overly busy. Servers are attentive and food and drink was served quickly. The prices are very good for what you get. Added bonus is that you can take your own wine/drink in (I don’t drink however they do serve soft drinks) Food is well cooked and there’s lots of it to choose from. Went for a few small plates and a large main (Lamb Shawarma). Well worth a visit.”

The upstairs family or segregated seating area was good and I loved the art tapestry work. Can't beat the traditional middle eastern vibes and the atmosphere. The food to try among many is the Chicken rice pilafa and the soup is also delicious. Great place for family and the price is not only affordable but, also quality for food.”

If you want great food and perfect service, this is where you need to go. Eating here is a wonderful experience from start to finish. ​The main dish, the Qabli Pilau, is the star. The rice is cooked perfectly and smells so good with spices like saffron. The lamb underneath is super soft and falls apart easily—it practically melts in your mouth! The sweet carrots and raisins mixed in taste fantastic and make the dish complete. It's truly delicious and comforting food. ​The grilling here is also top-notch. The Grilled Chicken and all the Kababs are cooked perfectly. They have a great smoky taste and a little crispiness on the outside, but the meat inside is still incredibly juicy and tender. They use great spices, and every bite is full of real, traditional flavor. ​And let's talk about the service—it's honestly the best service I've ever had. The staff are so nice, professional, and genuinely happy to help. Our server knew everything about the menu and was quick and helpful without rushing us or getting in the way. ​Aljazeera gets everything right: amazing, real food and incredible customer care. “We were driving back to Birmingham from the north and decided to stop for something different. We chose this restaurant for its Saudi Arabian food, and it did not disappoint! We ordered kebda, lamb mandi, chicken mandi, and waraq inab. The kebda was honestly the best I’ve ever had in the UK — the sauce was unique and full of flavor. The lamb mandi was delicious, with soft, tender meat and rich taste. We didn’t get a chance to try the chicken because the portions were very generous — each dish was more than enough for one person, and we were already full! Ayoub was kind, professional, and very helpful. He even gave us two extra tiramisu boxes for my girls for free as gift — such a lovely gesture! The restaurant’s design also stood out — it offers full privacy so you can enjoy your food in peace. The Arabic majlis-style seating and traditional decor created a warm and relaxing atmosphere. We will absolutely come back to this restaurant. Total payment: £35 for everything. Hygiene: Excellent!”

“Went here last Friday and was very impressed. The food was gorgeous and the staff very polite. It was rammed when we left so make sure you book. We had so much lovely food to eat and despite having to take our own bottle of wine in there, it was only £24 each including tip. Will definitely go again.”
