We were really disappointed with the quality of the food. The prawn balls were mostly batter.. the pancake roll had a distinctive unattractive flavouring and soggy texture to it. The noodles were kind of burned. The only thing that was enjoyable was the roast pork pieces in amongst it. So for £30 I felt undeserved.
Asked for special chowmein with no pork I suggest you check food before you leave shop it was cold hardly no chicken and a few prawns. Not impressed poor service
Food preparation is great. I'm sure they keeping their hygiene rules checked. Taste is great.. one of the best places to go eat chinese food.
Best Chinese Takeaway spot !! In Edmonton , food is always delicious. Highly recommend their vermicelli Singapore noodles alongside , the peking dumpling. The list could literally go on Cantonese style Pork is 10/10. Honestly , my favourite spot . Large sized portions too which is always a plus .
How on earth can anyone give this establishment 1*? Please don’t get it confused with other Oriental Chef takeaways along the same stretch of road - which is an easy mistake to make. Trust me…I turned up for my pre-ordered food at the wrong one once!! Oriental Chef in Hertford Road is one of the best local Chinese takeaways. They care about the flavours and the way they cook their food. I was one of the first to buy from them when they opened (mistakenly thinking they were a branch of the one I used to order from in Southgate). But, from the day I walked in until now, they have been my favourite Saturday night takeaway place. They know immediately it’s me before I give them my name because, being the saddo I am, I order the same dishes every time but I’m getting better at trying new dishes nowadays. From Day One, there’s always been a special “surprise” in the bag for my son which he loves and, on occasion, I get a little present too - something hand carved by the chef (see pics) which makes me smile. Their food is sheer joy on my plate and the flavours are awesome. I will continue to support Oriental Chef, Hertford Road, Edmonton as long as possible.
I'm sorry but this is not really Singapore noodles which i was looking forward to..... if I wanted the egg noodles then i would have ordered. Food wasnt that bad, we found a little bland.
My family and I really enjoyed our dinner from Oriental Chef. We tried different things and it was all perfect! Very tasty food! The chilli oil is absolutely the best I've had. It is very spicy so for anyone who enjoys spice, definitely try their chilli oil. Service was really good too! I called up to place my order and the woman on the phone was very polite and helpful. Delivery came in 30 minutes. I highly recommend this place.
