An absolutely outstanding dining experience from start to finish. Silo is far more than just a restaurant — it’s a celebration of sustainability, creativity, and innovation. As the world’s first zero-waste restaurant, every detail is thoughtfully considered, from the sourcing of ingredients to the presentation of each dish. The result is a menu that’s not only environmentally conscious but also truly exciting and original. Each course was a discovery — beautifully crafted, imaginative, and bursting with flavour. The chefs clearly approach food as both art and science, transforming humble ingredients into extraordinary dishes. It’s rare to find a restaurant where every plate tells a story, but Silo achieves this with ease and elegance. The service was equally impressive: warm, knowledgeable, and perfectly paced, making us feel welcome and well looked after throughout the evening. The atmosphere is relaxed yet refined, striking the perfect balance between casual comfort and fine dining. Silo is a must-visit for anyone who loves food with purpose — where sustainability meets creativity, and every bite leaves a lasting impression. I left feeling inspired, satisfied, and already planning my next visit.

We had the full menu (including the supplement for both mains) with one of us gluten free. The gluten free one of us did not miss out! The gluten eater was actually jealous of the super delicious gluten free seeded bread which had whole spices in there. We could identify the coriander seeds and we are inspired to make our own gf seed and spice bread. I had been twice before within a year or so of each other and was previously a bit disappointed that most of the dishes were the same. However, this time it had been about 4 years since my last visit and 2 or 3 dishes were the same. I appreciate the concept is zero waste so some dishes have perhaps have built in systems. Our favourite dishes were the cheese cracker (wow!), amazake ice cream (humble ingredients but incredible flavour complexity and intensity - we loved the hints of vinegar and elderflower, especially paired with the peach and basil oil) and the mushrooms which tasted like chargrilled lamb! It’s hard to be wowed by every dish on a tasting menu. The courgette terrine was underwhelming. As a Mexican and an experienced Mexican food eater, we were excited by the mole octopus but it did not taste like mole to us. It lacked in the chocolate and spice flavours. However, it was still a delicious dish and the octopus was cooked perfectly. We probably wouldn’t have been disappointed if it wasn’t called mole! Overall we really enjoyed the experience and appreciated all the explanations.

Haven’t been for a couple of months, however Silo remains the most innovate restaurant in London. There has been a number of menu changes and tweaks to some dishes which was exciting to see. The result. Awesome and interesting food, always tasty with some of the most friendly and informative service. Love the zero waste philosophy and the dining room vibe and music is spot on too. Still a huge favourite of ours. One of the very best. We will be back again soon.

A really enjoyable experience. The ethos of zero waste is presented really well and explained in everything the restaurant does Service was knowledgeable, charming, engaging and efficient. We got to have a chat with the chef pre dinner snd see into their fascinating fermentation work. The set menu and ethos of zero waste is excellent. The flavours of every dish is fantastic. There's a lot of flavour and layers to every dish. Perhaps the only criticism is that on the short menu you are left content in portions if not full. More of their delicious bread was readily offered. The quaver cracker was stunning, flavours of the bbq padron pepper really complex and the octopus expertly cooked. It was quiet to begin but filled up later - we were an early table. A must for anyone passionate about food and with interest in sustainability.

A really incredible food experience made better by the kindest and most enthusiastic team of chefs and staff. Every course was delicious, balanced, and well conceived. Each course also had such a different take on a new element than the last, constantly impressing. We loved hearing how each dish was contrived and redesigned from earlier iterations and seasons. At the end of our night, the staff were kind enough to spend extra time answering our questions about their ferments, reuses, and zero-waste methods. It was a really special experience! My parents, who are not typically a fan of vegetarian heavy dinners, absolutely loved it! A great spot for anyone interested in local, foraged, fermented, or thoughtful ingredients and dining.

Tasty, yes; refined and inventive, yes; but the standout is the service. An ensemble effort from the moment you walk in to the airy space, via the multiple service staff and sommelier… it’s an assured, friendly and effective combination that oozes “welcome”. I was intrigued by the zero-waste approach but the biggest impact as a diner is the inventiveness it spawns. The tastes and flavour combinations are a joy. In addition there’s a clear unifying purpose that gives the menu and team a real energy. Sitting at the bar is a must if dining solo or a party of two. Enjoy the activity in the open kitchen and fire/smoke pillar. Tables are very generously spaced and with the soft lighting, minimal/skandi design and high ceilings, it’s a restful antidote to crushed west end dining. Note that plates are served in sequence and so you’ll end up sharing if dining together. This allows you to taste more and the waiters are helpful matching tastes and appetites to choices. They have an ‘everything on the menu’ option for about £65 and that way you get everything in nearly full size. It’s a hearty and lengthy meal but not too much. If you’re hungry on arrival do the ‘everything’, but if you’re in a just one course mood then they’ll help you choose two or three things. I’m already looking forward to returning!

Masters of flavour! We had an absolutely divine experience. I simply wonder why a "zero waste" restaurant like this one is not the norm. So creative, so tasty, with a meaningful impact, and definitely worth it. Highly recommend the place for a quiet evening or for a special occasion. Staff are really welcoming and take you through a journey with every dish. Loved it.

One of a kind and my favourite in London. I prefer their homemade bread over a birthday cake - 3rd time @ Silo London . Silo in Hackney is just a different kind animal! Their Zero Waste approach does not only deliver on feel good factor and operates on a model most restaurants should copy - the tasting menu is actually one of the best in London: versatile, simplistic but elegant, full of flavour and at £59 reasonably priced. Also, special shout out to the service and location. Details below: Party size: 3 Atmosphere: 9/10 Service: 9.5/10 Food: 9.5/10 Drinks: 8/10 Value for price: 8.5/10 Standout: homemade bread & goats cheese crackers Disappointed: n/a

Best dining experience of my life! Absolutely incredible food, attention to detail from the friendly waiting staff and a super cool & ambient atmosphere made for a 10 out of 10 experience! You will not be disappointed with the "All in" menu whether you eat meat or are vegetarian/ vegan - every single dish was beautifully assembled and tasted phenomenal! There was so much variety too. From wherever you sit in the restaurant, you can also see the care & effort the chefs put in to preparing the food and the waiting staff genuinely seem proud and knowledgeable about the food they're serving to you. Simply cannot fault Silo.
