Where do I start! We turned up slightly early to get a drink before our meal. The restaurant had one table in, the staff tried to sit us next to another table when we could have sat anywhere. We ordered simple starters, 3 deep fried brie and one other starter. This took over 40 minutes to arrive bearing in mind there was one other table in the restaurant all night during our visit. The service was exceptionally slow for what youd expected given how busy the restaurant was! The mains came, I ordered a steak which was requested rare, the steak came out medium well. Mistakes happen and steak can be hard to get right but not when you request rare and get given the exact opposite. There was nothing special regarding the food and the staff were pleasant but didnt seem experienced at all. I requested to speak to the manager regarding the current experience which they did come over straight away, I explained our experience and how it wasnt good for a first visit. I was told that they agreed the steak was not rare, I didnt actually really get an apology or seem too bothered that wed had to wait this long and no explanation for it. They did however offer to replace the meal which was completely fine, this did come back the way youd expect a second time but everyone else had finished their meals before Id even had chance to start my replacement. The Manager did not offer another solution except to change my meal which is what any customer would expect. My overall first impression of Koko Leaf is not what youd hope when eating in an independent establishment relying on good quality food and customer experience. I would suggest anyone thinking of attending this place to avoid.

Love this restaurant mainly because of the lovely people who work there. They are always so helpful and friendly. The decor of the place is wonderful, the food is very good and a reasonable price. I've visited several times, and it's definitely my favourite place to eat in Epworth now. Something to note. I take my elderly mum there for a meal and she can't climb stairs and the restaurant and toilets are upstairs! However, the staff are happy for us to eat in the bar downstairs, and the service is prompt, so this has not been an issue.

My other half and I adore this restaurant and make an effort to come at least once a month. The food is some of the best we've eaten, the restaurant is beautiful and has a great atmosphere, and the staff are always helpful and friendly. Portion sizes are nice, not small, but not so big that they're too much. The drinks are also always a hit. We both agree that we won't stop coming here for a long time yet. Could not recommend more. Undoubtedly one of the greatest places to eat in the area.

Had a couple of lovely meals here. The food is tasty, service is top notch and the decor is stunning. The only thing that has disappointed is the atmosphere. This might have been down to pure bad luck but on both occasions we have been seated next to a large table of people swearing and shouting. The staff are reluctant to say anything to these people but you can clearly see everyone else in the restaurant is annoyed.

I was a little disappointed with my visit to Koko leaf. The setting was nice and good atmosphere. The staff were very attentive but the menu was all in Italian so we had to ask for an explanation of every meal. I would suggest having a printed menu with explanations underneath. Also for my main I had a chicken dish and it came on it’s own initially then they brought an dish with 3 slices of courgette and 3 slices of aubergine. I had to get takeaway on the way home. There was no sides on the menu presented and the waiter did no mention it came on it’s own. I would have though they may suggest you order something else to go with it. The food was good but expecting people to be full with a chicken breast and sauce is ridiculous. My tip would be go for the pasta as at least you get a dish full.
