Had a lovely fish burger (tatar sauce and lettuce) it was massive and the fish was fresh and flakey. Could have done with a slice of cheese but thats just my preference. Im sure they would have added it if I had asked. The JD Ribs were lovely, what you would expect them to be like sweet, sticky and tender meat. Chips were on point too.

Ordered last night Fish and burger was divine. Chips however were inedible. So hard you could break your teeth Very disappointed always used this chippy for years no option to message on the app phone just rang out no reply
Had a takeaway last night the 20th January. The shop had not long been opened waited for it to be cooked fresh lovely so I thought. Got home and was very disappointed the Cod if you can call it was swimming in oil the batter was under cooked and the fish was grey,curry sauce tasted burnt. Not the best of service would not recommend this for a nice place to eat from.
Best in Brentwood in my opinion. I normally have the medium cod and it is good quality and more of a large size compared with everywhere else. Chips are a generous portion also. I really like the curry sauce, proper Chinese takeaway style. Happy to recommend Chris' to anyone.

Extremely expensive for the portion size. The chips were nice but I would say half the size of a regular portion. We ordered food for four people and turned out to be about as expensive as going to a restaurant. At the end of the day these are potatoes cut up and fried, regardless of service charge and site fees and popularity it is still an in-expensive takeaway option and the price should reflect that.
Quite possibly the nicest fish and chips in Essex in my opinion! I have been using Chris's for years and have never had a bad meal. Tonight I had large cod and shared a large portion of chips with my Mrs who had a regular cod. Both bits of fish were enormous and absolutely delicious, pure white flakey fresh tasting cod in a light crispy batter. The chips were light and fluffy and equally delicious. It was not at all greasy just perfect fish and chips. The staff are always pleasant and polite. Excellent experience. Well done.
Nice and friendly service by one of the guys. The younger guy I first got served by was a bit moody. First time I've been there and they recommended the ribs. The sauce was delicious and very generous. The rib meat was tasty and moist. Only thing I would say is if they allowed it to tenderise further it would have been perfect. A little bit chewy, but I'm very fussy. Chips were decent and I would definitely go back.
