My major birthday for 2024 is coming up soon. My sister suggested about new walking shoes, as I have lost so much weight doing this exercise over the years. And she suggested Clarks in Chorley. I thought about Amazon. But my sister suggested Chorley store as ease of trying on. This store had several walking footwear on show. I selected three shoes of their range to examine. And asked for these in my size. The few ones I had selected, had in common of good grip soles with deep tread, lightweight, comfortable, and didn't rub my feet, and free around my ankle to avoid rubbing there. The staff are both pleasant and knowledgeable about their stock. One set of boots is 50% off. I tried the three boots, each in turn, and went with the best set for me. The staff are lovely and polite. The range they have is competitive to Middlebrook store of Clarks. If you only try these shoes inside your home, you could return these within two weeks of buying them if your not pleased with your purchase. My previous trainer / walking boot cross I bought from this store had allowed me to walk over 3 million steps over 19 months of daily walking journeys in them. According to my pedometer. But they are now very worn. The sales at this time (October 2025) weren't running. But i bought my new pair for £130. They also feature what attracted me to my first walking footwear i bought previously. These new ones also have great deep tread, and are light weight, give great support to my feet and are comfortable to wear. They also don't rub my heals. And have gortex technology. I very much rate Clarks for these type of walking trainer / boot cross for all around comfort and usefully designed for enthusiastic daily health walkers. My first trip walking in these new boots proved to be very good. In fact I am 100% satisfied with my purchase of these. trainer / walking boot cross. I bought from the store a spray cleaner and water repellent that they suggested for £8. I was dismissive at first. But once a day for a few weeks has seen my boots get increasingly shiny black and attractive and with a better water repellent nature. It's good and worth a try!

Went to the store with my 9 month old child to get her feed measured. It was like the staff in there couldn't be bothered. Questioned why my child wasn't wearing socks. It was 28 degrees outside. Staff had an attitude and was acting like they didnt want to be there which is fine. Ill take my businesses elsewhere. Judging by the other reviews on here this store has been on the decline for a while. Ill visit Preston store in future

Left feeling annoyed again with the underhand way staff at the store add leather protector spray to the purchase when not requested - when flagging this up AND declining they still try to push you to purchase. This is the last time I will be purchasing school shoes from Clarkes.

I had ordered some Clarkes shoes online using their online measurement instructions. Anyway after ordering some Shoes I didn’t feel entirely comfortable with my measurements. So I nipped into the Chorley store and explained my situation (as above). The lady was rude, she made me feel like an inconvenience, she said all styles are different and that In store measurements are best (if so why do Clarkes advertise online to do it yourself). She asked what shoes I had ordered and when I showed her she said I don’t know those, she went to ask the lady at the desk and came back and explained they were last years styles which is why they was in the sale, talk about embarrassing, yes I ordered online to save money in this days endless price hikes. She then grabbed the measurement and said to my son who is 9 ‘foot down now’, if I didn’t suffer with social anxiety (hence why I ordered online in the first place) I would have given her a gob full. On leaving the shop my son said to me ‘that lady had no manners’. I agreed and told him that’s not a nice way to talk to someone or make them feel. I certainly won’t be returning. Awful assistance and even during busy periods there was absolutely no need for her rudeness!!

I hadn’t made an appointment as shifts at work makes it hard to plan absolutely every little thing, we had been to two shoe shops who wouldn’t see us without an appointment. Came here and we were seen almost straight away, we only needed two pairs of school shoes, the staff got the kids measured and showed us what they had in that size, kids liked them, I paid for them. Bish bash bosh. In and out in 15mins. Thank you so much!

Leaving behind the good quality and design of the shoes, I had a really bad experience when I went with my son to get him a pair of shoes. The lady who attended us was quite rude and unpolite. She seemed to be in her 50's (or so I believe), pressured us to do things fast, made me understand that if I didn't take the shoe size she measured, I wouldn't have any chance at all to change it later. She seemed to be grumpy and stress at all times. We went there about 2 weeks ago from the time I'm writing this post. Also, eventhough I made an appointment the day before with another lady to go there and try the shoes for my son, when I waited to be called, she said out loud on the street "you are not on the list", and later the same lady that made me the appointment told her I did made it the day before.
