This used to be a great takeaway, literally 5 minutes walk away at the end of my road. Now you have to order via an app and pay delivery and service fee for something I'd go and collect myself. Even worse than that it was supposed to be 55 minutes and now the update is almost double that. Very disappointing.
Phoned to order - person cannot properly understand me when giving post code on the phone, had to repeat myself so many times (while giving NATO alphabetic words, but person did not know Sierra is S), and then because my card declined was so rude to say while i ask to wait 10 seconds while I check if I have cash to pay for the delivery, he said he didn’t want to spend more time with me on the phone. Restaurants like this with rude employees don’t know how to run a business or keep customers happy, really poor service!
Long time customers of The Village but unfortunately this will be the last time we order from here. We ordered over the phone and was told the delivery time would be an hour. For the second time in recent weeks, food took around 1 hour and 40 minutes to arrive and when asking the delivery driver about the delay, we’re told he is delivering the food from Upminster! There is nothing on there website to suggest the food isn’t coming from the Brentwood branch and this wasn’t disclosed over the phone. It seems they are knowingly withholding this fact to avoid losing orders. The food itself was nice as always but the exceedingly long delivery times and lack of transparency means we will taking our business elsewhere.
Ordered alot of food samosas were tiny, watered down food, and no free poppadoms after spending so much never had that before, always get free when spending over 30 or 40 pounds
Chicken Kamasutra is the best dish in brentwood.and lamb dosa extra chillies for starters got to try ..much better than the old boring dishes nice to have new things ..can't wait for more stuff to come on the menu .like the food they eat at home
I work down the road from this place and everyone uses it. Staff are very friendly and the food is always delivered quickly. Very tasty, by far the best butter chicken I've had in Essex.
The best Indian takeaway in Brentwood and I have tried a few. The chicken or the lamb is good quality meat and I love the Vindaloo, which tastes so good and has a real good spice to it. I also like that you can see the chefs working away cooking your food through the window in the shop. The owner is a also a really nice guy and always aims to please.
Excellent food, the dishes were very flavoursome. Customer service was great, the staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. They have some unique dishes which you can’t get anywhere else. We tried a chicken dish called Shatkari which had a citrus flavour and Gurkhas Revenge which was amazing (a combination of chicken breast and lamb mince) I highly recommend the place and will definitely continue ordering from them.
