Visited Bombetta for the first time this evening. An outstanding meal, with tasty wine and attentive + friendly service. I walk past this every day on my way to + from work and am so glad that we were curious enough to try it. Gorgeous Italian cuisine, served with passion and care.

This tiny neighbourhood restaurant boasts a homely feel. It’s location is perfectly ideal. The food was their greatest asset after my partner and I indulged ourselves in a magnificent Saturday date night dinner. The waiters rotated consistently ensuring we we taken care of. The win was magnificent. It was a treat and we will certainly be returning.

I came here yesterday with my family as they are visiting us from home and we decided to go to this Italian restaurant for first time. Even though I'm local I never actually came here before and I must say that I was surprised to see how nice it's inside, how friendly the staff was and how well thought the dishes are. Food menu is very elaborated and you got many choices to choose from. We ordered around 5-6 dishes to share them all. In general, all of them were very nice and tasty, specially the tuna tartare, spicy bombetta pork, burrata, and the chicory! However, sadly not all of us enjoyed the risotto that much and we found it a bit flavourless. Staff was very friendly at all the time! They did their best to accommodate us and we're very patience with our little one. Bear in mind that it's quite expensive for wanstead standards. I'll definitely go back for a drink and nibbles, next time with no kids though so we can enjoy some drinks.

It was a nice place to turn up on a quiet (2nd May) Bank Holiday Monday for lunch. The restaurant is relaxed and makes you feel like being incredibly lazy. ...sadly, the food (in my opinion) is severely lacking. The first time I came here was quite a few years ago...2016 maybe?...Bombetta hadn't been open that long....back then I found everything far too salty and uninspired...sadly not too much has changed. The menu is varied...meat and veggie people are delt with fairly equally...but the food really isn't anything to get much excited about. It comes across as "reasonably" decent produce, cooked with complete lack of menu understanding/flair - in oil that's seen better days. Our courgette starter "things" stank of stale 'spent' frying oil. When I'm asked "how was your food"...I'm always under the cosh...frankly, I want to go and talk to the kitchen staff...but I'm not allowed. I've had heated discussions in kitchens before. Visit Rome and you might eat stunning braised artichokes, visit Sorento and taste incredible tomatoes in a simple basil and oil salad...visit Florence and delight in a Lampredotto munched from a paper-bag on the street...these are all essentially peasant dishes...done incredibly well...sadly..you'll not find anything like this here - it's far too staged - whilst trying so desperately to be authentic. That's the trouble with travel. It raises expectations. If I were a cook in an Italian restaurant in this country - I'd want to draw on the inspiration and the beauty of both travel and the dishes you find along the way. Unlikely to happen here - anytime soon. The attached restaurant-shop dangles an intriguing Italian carrot - that the restaurant seemingly can't quite muster.

Traditional Italian restaurant serving dishes as you would expect but also traditional street food from the region of Puglia. Service and staff were outstanding. The restaurant decor is stylish modern but a relaxing chiled out ambiance, especially in the evening when the lights are dim. There is 2 dinning areas the main area for parties of 4 or more then a side "hut" for parties of 2. This is better if you want an intimate less distracting meal with a friend or partner but can get cold in winter I assume due to the blankets that are available. The menus is made up of 4 main categories. Bites or starters which are small dishes. Shared plates you get a little more and order a few if you are not having a main dish. Bombetta - traditional Italian cured meats with cheese. Grills - main dishes. Everything on the menu was delicious without exception! The wine list is good but this can add up quickly to your total bill so have a drink before hand if you are feeling thirsty! All in all this is a hidden gem in the area and we'll worth a visit. I'll definitely come back to try other items on the menus as it all looked and tasted delicious!
