The most incredible Sunday lunch we have ever had! Chris & Caroline make you feel so welcome and at home and are the loveliest couple. The food was incredible, we would make the 2 hour drive from home to eat here again!
We had a absolutely brillant time here on the 4th of october. Came for my 40th birthday with my partner. As soon as we entered we was greeted straight away and given our table. The couple was invited and kind. Even the other guests were so friendly! The restaurant was old fashioned but in the best way. With chunky stone walls and solid wooden tables. With pictures of the pub from the past which were interesting to look at. From the homemade bread to the dessert the food was spot on and probably the best ive had at a restaurant in a long time. We had the brie and vegetable parcels for starter. The brie my partner got I didn't think I would like the cheese and fruit combo but wow!!!. The warmth of the cheese, brought the sweetness of the strawberries out with the honey and oh my it was beautiful. The veg parcels were lovely with a nice kick but not too much that it overpowered it. I went for the rack of lamb which just fell off the bone and was so tasty. My partner had the duo of beef. He said it was beautiful the meat was so succulent. Then I had the orange curd cheesecake and my partner had the crumble which both had the right amount of sweetness which wasnt overpowering. Granted we were stuffed and probably shouldn't of got desserts but we couldn't resist and they were definitely worth it! For a 3 course meal for 2 with 2 drinks each the price was reasonable. To the point I was more than happy to pay a tip. They even bought me out a candle for my birthday in my dessert and sang happy birthday to me. We chatted for a good half an hr at the end. Which just makes it much more personable than any chain restaurant can offer. Left full to the brim on the most yummy food. But also lovely to chat and get to know them too. Cannot say enough good things about this place and will try to come again whenever in the area. I recommend it 1000% thank you so much for making us feel so welcome and pampered.
What a fantastic gem this restaurant is. The food was genuinely some of the best we have ever tasted and the hospitality is beyond anything that we have experienced. If you don't book a table when you are near the area you would have truly missed out. We were welcomed and looked after throughout our meal and will definitely return.
A lovely dining experience! A great restaurant in a lovely village. Our rack of lamb was perfect and the plum apple and orange crumble a delight. Very highly recommended!

The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, making it the perfect way to spend a relaxing Sunday. Highly recommend — we’ll definitely be back!
Great service and delicious food. The portions are very generous. We booked in advance via email which was promptly replied to. Our small dog was welcomed at one of their dog friendly tables. We would definitely return.
Delicious roast dinner, followed by sumptuous desserts. Exactly what was needed after a long day out exploring! Great, friendly service too :)
We have eaten here a number of times now and every time we have been greeted happily and offered some really good food. Starters for me don't have many options I would choose from but that's me. Mains and desserts have lots to choose from and I'm yet to be disappointed. This is an unassuming restaurant with only a few tables so booking ahead is recommended.
