I love the food here, but the prices you charge for drinks it's just ridiculous. Nearly £5 for a small cup of coffee. Clearly your overheads are too high and you put this on loyal customer's, it's wrong. Far too many floor staff. Cramped inside, not enough space on the table for two's as your arms end up going on the plates. I was going every other weekend, not anymore.

Cafe on the Lane: The best cafe in Heald Green Village. I recently stumbled upon Cafe on the Lane while working in the Heald Green area, and what a superb discovery it turned out to be. Finding a top notch, high-quality independent café is always a bonus, and this place truly delivers. The whole place has a brilliant vibe; the décor is modern, very clean, and immediately welcoming. It's clear that this is a well-run, family-orientated business, as the staff are genuinely lovely—attentive, friendly, and providing truly top-notch customer service. The food is consistently spot-on. Every dish I’ve tried is cooked with care and executed perfectly—well-seasoned and excellent value for money. They also offer a great range of fresh bakes and cakes, alongside fresh coffee (my flat white was lovely) and fresh orange juice. The facilities, including the bathrooms and provisions for children, are immaculate. My absolute favourite has to be the smashed avocado on sourdough paired with perfectly poached or scrambled eggs, mushrooms, and feta. It’s a flawless breakfast or lunch option. If you’re looking for a local, independent café with a great atmosphere, quality food, and outstanding service, I can’t recommend Cafe on the Lane highly enough. It’s a proper gem!

Lovely selection of breakfasts One thing that could be better is they should do the eggs benedict with sourdough bread toasted. The normal bread gets too soggy. Next time I'll ask to swap them. Thanks :)

I decided to pay this awesome bistro a visit before my flight after reading the very positive reviews beforehand. Fabulous friendly service from the waiting on staff and the kitchen chef! The French pancake stack with scrambled eggs and 2 sausages were delicious and filling too, for a very reasonable price. The outside eating area is lovely as well! Thanks very much again, I've already recommended you!

I would definitely visit again. I recommend this if your a big fan of delicious food, sweeter ones and the vibe of the cafe.

Great ambience. My Mum has arthritis and struggles with larger cups, the staff brought different cups to see which she could manage best. Had pancakes with bacon plus 2 eggs, delicious food and coffee.
