Costa Coffee is one of those places I find myself visiting occasionally, even though I’m not really their target customer. I don’t drink coffee, so I can’t personally comment on the taste, but I’ve been told by a number of friends and colleagues that Costa’s coffee is excellent and reliable. Apparently, it’s one of the reasons people keep going back those who love coffee really seem to get exactly what they’re looking for. As for me, I usually order herbal tea. It’s perfectly fine, nothing remarkable, but still a decent option when you’re just looking for something warm, simple, and comforting. The drinks are served consistently and promptly, and the staff usually seem friendly and organised, even when the café is busy. Food-wise, my experience has been mixed. The savoury items, like sandwiches or hot snacks, feel a bit disappointing for the price. They often seem small, slightly dry, or lacking in flavour. However, those who enjoy sweet treats always seem to praise Costa’s cakes and pastries, so perhaps it’s just a matter of choosing the right type of food. One thing I’ve noticed is how many people treat Costa as a workspace, hosting meetings or working on laptops for long stretches. Personally, it’s not my style I’d rather keep work away from cafes but I don’t judge those who prefer that environment. It clearly offers them the convenience and atmosphere they want. Overall, Costa does its job well, especially for coffee lovers, even if it isn’t exactly my cup of tea.

I’m consistently impressed with Emma every time I visit this Costa. She always remembers my drink and has it ordered before I even get the chance to ask. She works with a genuine smile, is friendly to everyone, and goes out of her way to remember people’s orders. Emma carries herself like she owns an independent coffee shop, and she represents both the franchise and the Costa brand impeccably. In a world full of mediocre service, she is a refreshing standout. She’s a real asset to the team and to the local community in Cheadle Hulme. Dave

okay. I went with my friends and one got a small iced latte and the other one got a small caramel frappe. The latte tasted like straight up water. And the caramel frappe tasted like straight up milk. The employees rolled their eyes at us. I cannot believe this terrible service. Disgusting. I’m disappointed absolutely disappointed. They didn’t even know the order of the caramel frappe. Took hardly any time to make the small latte. I wonder why? Because it tasted like water.

As a local & loyal customer I feel disappointed that the standards has gone down in the recent month. Although food is generic it seems over done at times? Coffee not hot & service unwelcoming. Simple things like offering sauces, knife, napkins. This is a shame as local but dont feel its worth the money at the moment.

Despite this Costa often being quiet on midweek daytimes, I'm struggling to understand why it's always so dirty and poorly managed. The staff are friendly (and constantly changing which is another sign of bad management), but seem very junior and rarely motivated to do anything other than chat when they're not serving customers. The WiFi seems to work around 70% of the time.

Absolutely filthy. Stay out of toilets disgusting. Slow service and very poor coffee. Missing fire extinguishers by main entrance. Food on the floor. Had to wipe my feet on exit. Given cleanliness, don't eat here.

It is the most dirty Costa I have ever seen in the uk. It is disgusting and no workers to clean and clear out the tables but they haven’t cleaned the floors in weeks and they’re a full hot sandwich under the couch. I don’t recommend and hope the can find a new way to improve this place like they used to.

Sadly not enough staff and only 1 coffee machine. It is fine if you want to work and stay for a long time. Massive improvement on my last visit a month ago. There were at least 5 members of staff and so queue was just a few minutes. Coffees were perfect. Team members were very friendly and polite. Most tables were clean. Obviously the feed back is actioned.

This is by far the worst Costa I have ever visited. I am a regular of the Costa in my area, Bolton, but occasionally I meet a friend at this Costa. On previous occasions I have been disappointed with the speed of service, or lack of it, and the general poor cleanliness of this location. However, today's experience takes the biscuit. Arriving at 10.00 am, every table that did not have a customer at it had empty cups, plates and trays strewn over them. My friend was already waiting to be served ( she had ordered and paid). Some 10 minutes later she received the two Cappuccinos she had ordered. During the time we were drinking our coffees, the tables without customers remained covered in cups etc. At around 10.40 am we decided to have another coffee and a sausage bun each. I went to queue behind 3 other customers. My order was taken quickly and sandwiches placed in the oven. of course, the sandwiches were cooked quite quickly, yet I had to wait a further 10 minutes before it was time for my coffee order to be produced. At this point I noticed the (very slow) barista was using takeaway cups. I said we were drinking inside and she said she had run out of cups. I protested that cups should be available and perhaps it may help if those used ones strewn all over the tables were collected. She responded by saying " do you want these coffees or not". Had I not been with a friend I would have told her what I really thought and asked for my money back. However, I took the coffees and the now Luke warm sandwiches. You may think they were short staffed but no, there was a member of staff who seemed to be in a world of her own, walking around and very occasionally picking up a few used cups from tables. Clearly, washing the cups was out of the question as when we left paper cups were still the order the day. I am appalled by this lazy, poor and rude service. My friend and me will never revisit this particular Costa.
