Called in for the first time today just as I was passing. Bought a few things then thought I’d visit the cafe for coffee and cake . Really nice small cafe. Totally spotless and the most amazing thing was the great service and friendliness of the lovely lady who works there. ( blonde plaited pony tail ) Thank you so much . You are a credit to Waitrose .
Lovely staff member. No queue. Fast service. Quiet, Plenty of tables available. Nice if you want a quick lunch. Sandwiches, toasties, cakes, muffins, quiche. They have a breakfast/ brunch menu eg scrambled eggs on toast, avocado on toast etc. Got 3 cups of tea from the tea pot. Large slice of cake.
Good coffee but food somewhat lacking. Limited vegetarian choice, what they do have sells out. Reheated hot dishes not great; breakfast roll of egg, mushroom tough and chewy as though overheated in microwave. Cheese with baked potato dry and crumbly. Cake and sandwiches look like the best choice.
Not bad for a supermarket café. Very friendly staff.
