Avoid at all costs. We went to Hearts Head Inn for a Christmas Eve meal and honestly wish we hadnβt bothered. The food was absolutely disgusting - clearly pre-cooked and reheated, with no care or pride taken whatsoever. Everything arrived cold, and when it was sent back, it somehow came out just as badβ¦ three times. At that point itβs not a mistake - itβs a system. Christmas Eve should feel special. Instead, this place managed to completely ruin the night before Christmas with food that tasted tired, lifeless, and rushed out with zero attention to quality.

One of the best dining experiences we've had in a while. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the staff were attentive and friendly, and service was faultless. From the Prix Frix menu (early bird), the Squid starter and Fish and Chips with chilli pea puree and tartar sauce were elevated to another level. The Raspberry and Almond Frangipane, and the Creme Brule were equally tantalising and delicious. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and we will definitely be coming back. If you're looking for a great place to celebrate a special occasion or just enjoy a high-quality meal, this venue is highly recommended.

My lovely Mum booked lunch here to celebrate my aunty's 70th birthday. When we arrived as a party of four, we were taken to a table for seven in a chilly space. We asked for a smaller table and were moved to a table for four. The restaurant felt quite cold and draughty. The menu offering was confusing, so we asked for clarification of the deals and decided to order from the festive menu as we were told by the waitress that it was 50% off for black friday. Three of us ordered soup and it was a while later when we were told it was unavailable. Two people chose the alternative soup offering and I ordered the garlic mushrooms. The soup was barely warm and bland. The garlic mushrooms just tasted of bitter lemon. The camembert was okay but nothing special. We all ordered the nut roast, which was nice, although you had to hunt for the couple of tiny pieces of potato in the dish. Two of us ordered the Christmas pudding, and two ordered the crumble with vegan vanilla ice cream. Yet again, the waitress returned a while later to tell us there was no ice cream, so two of us had no dessert. When the bill came it was for the full price and we were told by the second waitress that it wasn't, after all, 50% off for black friday. If we'd known this when ordering, we'd have ordered from the standard menu. When we queried it, she told us we were mistaken and need to read the T&Cs carefully (even though we'd been told by the first waitress it was part of the deal) but that she'd knock something off due to lack of availability of things we'd chosen. This was meant to be a celebration meal but was just disappointing.

Amazing. Lovely staff, great ambience. My friend are a bit older and struggle to eat a huge meal so we were delighted to find that we could order a child sized roast dinner which was ample and cooked to perfection, even better, we then had room for the most delicious dessert of fig, apple and ginger crumble that Iβve ever eaten. Great job, keep it up.

Wow! wasnβt expecting this, Hartshead Inn on the verge of re-opening to the general public after a major refurbishment has elevated itself to become the best place in the area, in All aspects. Absolutely amazing, had an incredible evening! The interior is stunning, the food is amazing and what makes this even better, is how special the fabulous staffΒ make you feel the moment you walk through the door. To have a restaurant pub of this quality has been long overdue in Saddleworth and the surrounding area. Big thanks to the Beth, Paige, Sam & Kaya for making the evening so memorable and to all the other members of staff working away in the background, was great to meet Megan and Craig from the corporate perspective too. So looking forward to returning very soon and on a regular basis.

We booked in for my dads birthday after coming a few weeks ago. The manager was so good and he told us we could have the private dining area. The evening was brilliant. Food great and the service was exceptional. Felt so looked after. Thank you so much to all the team and the chefs. We look forward to coming back. Again the manager was brilliant. So good with the kids and also remembered us from Last time so having some good banter.

Second time and we love it here! So homely and lovely decor. We sat by the window with the view of the cows. Food was very tasty. Nice fries, good cut of meat and seasoned well. The beef dripping sauce was soooo addictive! The brownie was so endulgent and the baileys ice cream was maurish. Only 4 stars because order was the wrong way round but friendly staff very attentive. Overall comfortable experience and ate everything! Top notch.

Honestly, the staff are so nice and the food was perfect in taste and presentation! Definitely not just pub grub! Not expensive at all and worth every single penny!

Lovely meal! Me and wife loved the food and the atmosphere. Very comfy seating. The restaurant/pub has beautiful scenery and outside seating too. Weβll definitely be coming back. The only thing that let it down was some things on the menu being too pricy. My flatbread had too much flour on the bottom of it which ruined the taste. The chips tasted like oven chips. The staff were lovely.
