The atmosphere couldn’t be improved. Such an original and intimate spot for dinner. The service was good and food was tasty. First time in London we didn’t feel like we were rushed out the door. I would say the portion sizes are a bit too small for the price. However, worth it for a special occasion.

A wonderful experience. (Usually I'm sea sick on boats) From the moment you enter the boat to the end of the experience it was filled with extremely attentive customer service, lovely ambience with the perfect lighting and atmosphere surrounding. Food was magnificent, the steak was cooked to perfection- succulent and complimented with a celeriac mash and walnuts. The mussels and curry sauce were delicious The wine and signature martini went down a treat. Overall- a memorable trip and will return again one day.

Lovely ambiance on a canal boat. Nicely decorated… good food and good service. Not many but good wine selection. We hade lamp, cod and tagliatelle. Finished with the crumbs. All tasty and nicely presented. We did not have a reservation and first went to the cafe where the food selection for dinmer is very limited. Finally they found us a table and had a lovely dinner. Thanks…

Tucked away along a quiet stretch of the Regents Canal in Islington’s eastern edge, Caravel is a great kitchen offering wonderful meals in a cozy canal boat. The dining room is big enough to accommodate quiet couples sharing a romantic dinner or a small group having a festive night out. They’re not reinventing the wheel here, but they are serving generous portions of exquisitely prepared food. Excellent service too.

My birthday dinner at Caravel was brilliant! Zara gave exceptional service and top notch recommendations. Every plate was fresh and we loved the flavors! My favorite was the prawn toast. The atmosphere couldn’t be beat. It’s very unique in that it’s on the water. For a nice day, highly recommend outdoor tables!

Simply my favourite restaurant in London now. Loved everything I ate and it is such an interesting setting with lovely staff. A great way to spend time and money. Thinking of reasons to go back all the time…

Fabulous spot! We came here for Mother’s Day lunch and we all loved the food. Lovely intimate atmosphere and great service. The food was outstanding, especially the gnudi and the almond tart. I will definitely be back

Went here for a belated Valentine’s Day lunch. It was amazing. The location is really nice, and easy to find. The vibe of the restaurant is perfect, intimate, cool decor, perfect playlist. The food was amazing, we had; Crab salad, veal pasta, crispy lamb, rostis, potatoes, cabbage, prawn toast. It was all delicious. It’s hard to pick a winner, my fave was the prawn toast, my partner loved her lamb and veal pasta. The rum and coke old fashioned was tasty. The service was excellent, always someone on hand to help you out, take an order, check if you’re alright. I’ll definitely be coming back again. My expectations were very high due to reviews about it and it exceeded them all.

Nicely located along the canal, although the boat is quite deep with no windows so you might be sitting anywhere. Waiters are great. Food is quite good, smaller plates with special flavours.

We had high expectations after reading the write ups of Caravel but we left very disappointed by the food. Firstly the menu was totally different to online… I understand the menu changes but the website should be updated to reflect this. The food was okay but nothing special at all. I feel like I could have made the marinated tomato starter at home. I had the Ragu for main and again it tasted fine but wasn’t oozing any particularly special flavour which I would expect My boyfriend has the steak and the anchovy salad was so overpowering he could barely taste the steak. It was an expensive dinner for average food and we did unfortunately leave disappointed. (£170 for 3 courses, a cocktail and 2 glasses of wine for 2)
