   The Midlands takes a bit of effort from the punters point of view if you want to make it a regular haunt. At least three excellent cask ales are on offer at anyone time, but requests for tasters will be turned down, not so subtly. You can trust me that the quality of the beers is up with the best of them. This is a no nonsense, no frills trad boozer that the adventurous, open minded and courteous boozer will find enough charm by being itself to make it a regular haunt. Give it a chance.

   Railway built old fashioned pub with working class clientele. Good choice of beers popular for darts and good to socialise. Regular meeting place for informal music gatherings. As with many older establishments, there are changes in floor level to negotiate. Food not sold here.

   Unless your a regular you wouldn't know this place is open..door is always closed.most of the time in darkness so you would just walk past thinking its closed

   I pop into the Midland every couple of weeks or so. It's a proper old school pub which is a welcome relief. The current vogue for foodie pubs is fine but sometimes you just want a few pints,a packet of crisps and nothing else. The pub has it's quota of regulars and is a nice place to visit if you fancy a pint by yourself with a bit of bustle in the background.

   Fantastic food as always. You get what you pay for guys as they say.....my fillet steak sandwich was cooked to perfection and so tender. I would add a photo but it didn't stay on my plate long enough....
