    Strangely closed looking pub near the train station with a couple of ales on and some good crisps (Inc lancashire sauce!) The beer we had was top quality and this place is well worth a visit for the ales and plane spotting

    As I understand it, the pub is now under new management after having had a funny reputation with the old landlord — anyway, the place is very rundown, and quite smelly. Also the beer garden is just as bad. Hard to recommend the place to be honest… and whilst it’s better than it not being available at all, the Guinness was in a can. So again, nothing to recommend… unless you like pubs that look derelict

    What a lovely little pub! Nice selection of beers on tap and always on rotation. Great bunch of locals and a roaring fire, so some good chat while staying cosy. Games on offer and a nice outside area too.
