Really weird experience in here and after reading the reviews I can see it is probably just that the owners are actively rude to customers that aren’t a mirror image of people their own age or skin colour. I was sat with my partner in a corner where nobody was sat close to us as it’s just the one table in that section. We had our arms around each other while chatting when an old lady (presumably the landlady) came over while I was telling him a story and said “Can I just say, there’s a lot of old people in here and you’re freaking them out. Can you just…?” And gestures with her hands to make us literally sit apart from another like we’re school children in secondary school. When she walks back to the bar we see that there’s two old men (one potentially being her husband but we’re not sure) staring at us so probably had been doing so for the whole night. After this interaction we left shortly after, and funnily enough just before we did the old men were no longer stood there staring, which is funny because I would have thought that now there’s a gap between me and my partner they would no longer feel so “freaked out” and continued to stand there. Won’t be going back to this pub ever as I’m not interested in supporting a business that is more invested in coddling old men that think it’s okay to stare at a young couple across the room all night. Perhaps it’s worth considering that staring at people 30 years your inferior all night is actually uncomfortable for THEM, and if a couple sitting too close together on a Saturday night is offensive to you then maybe running a pub isn’t for you.

We didnt eat so cant comment on food. We love this place, the staff are great servive is great. Pubs nice & clean, toilets are clean. The outside area/beer garden is fabulous, the space is massive with a covered over bit incase it rains, this area has heaters for the winter, theres also a tv in there, they host their own festival each year with bands on, theres an outside stage & small bar which i imagine they open when the festival is on.

Being pressurised to buy more drinks before finishing the first and then proceeded to take the pint glass that still had a bit of beer left inside, overall he was just super unfriendly, will not be going back even if the drinks were on the house

What an absolute banger of a pub this was to experience. It’s like stepping back in time at how pubs should be. Really nice beers and ales on tap and a absolutely huge beer garden. Covered and uncovered seating for any weather

This is a lovely, welcoming pub, we recently had a funeral wake here, they did a fantastic buffet at an excellent price, which was set up very professionally in a separate room. The staff were very attentive, helpful and friendly, there's a beautiful beer garden to the rear. We were all made very welcome by the landlady and her team.... Thank you all for everything you all did..... See you soon.

Staff are rude and disrespectful, told us off for one of our party sitting for one minute since he hadn't bought a drink yet (the rest of us had already bought drinks). Then constantly checking on us to see if we were doing anything else wrong, told another of our party off for smoking outside, when there were others smoking outside.
