   Lovely bar staff who work hard and pull good and reasonably priced pints for South Manchester but, as everyone else on here has recently mentioned, the manager in charge is an unbelievably rude, horrid bloke who seems to hate customers who he is not best friends with. It remains a good spot in a great town so my prediction is it will go back to being a great bar once he is removed and someone else takes over. Guinness is decent for England in 2025!

   male manager with the beard rude as anything. had no interest in being even somewhat welcoming, would rather be sarcastic and off puttingto fuel his narcissism. could see the embarrassment in the staffs faces when he spoke to our group like we were scum. as a group of hospitality workers, we've never seen a manager with such a large ego and such an awful hair line.

   We've been coming to Chorlton for years and Dulcimer used to be such a warm and vibrant place - one of the few bars that stays open a little later. Last night, a group of us entered looking for a final drink of the night. The bar manager was on his phone when I approached the bar but started served me as my friends stood behind me chatting. Ordering my drink he asked if I wanted anything else but seeing my friends mid conversation I said not at the moment. As he prepared the drink he would not stop staring at the group clearly unhappy with the energy of the story being told. Trying to get his attention, I asked the group what everyone was drinking and as one guy approached the bar, the manager rudely stated we'd all had too much to drink and refused to serve us. Completely unnecessary and rude. The bar was very quiet considering it was a Friday night. No wonder!

   Long-standing Chorlton pub and live music venue. Good selection of world and British beers in keg, cask and bottle. Happy hour prices in the week which I think are deliberately 10p cheat a pint than the pub next door. Not exactly glamorous but the decor is pretty interesting. Known for folk music and there is always lots going on in terms of live music and comedy in the upstairs bar.

   Good little bar. Upstairs space with live music. Back garden is pretty lively. Good selection of spirits but could do with some better beers on tap.

   Good spot. Very good selection of beer. Enjoyed it here. Service wasn't with a smile exactly but they may have been having an off day. Chorlton is a nice area for drinks and food and this is one of the best places.

   I’ve enjoyed this pub for years, but I’ll not be going back. Just had the worst service I’ve ever had, got told to leave with no explanation - At all. We’ve just finished work on a Wednesday, come to chorlton for a meal at rudys to celebrate something, and have a nice night with friends. Got out the taxi and went for a swift at fourbanks because we were early. The barman asked what I wanted, asked us about weatherspoons for some reason, forgot what I ordered, became rude and then refused to serve us, asking us to move on. I asked why, but got no details or explanation “just move on”. Gladly, thanks for ruining our night

   Been here a few times and enjoyed it, however thanks to the balding barman I'll probably never bother again. Very rude man, I saw him refusing to serve people even though they did nothing wrong. He just decided he didn't like them which is quite discriminatory

   08/10/22: been here many times. Dulcimer established in 2007, now celebrating nearly 15 years! Briefly closed in January 2011, but reopened to continue its excellence. Craft ale heaven, cocktails, live music venue, great staff and dog friendly. "Fine Ales and Finer Folk"
