   We were really disappointed tonight. Been coming here for years but had to wait an hour until being told they had no mixed grill as chef was not happy with it so my Son had to change his order. Peppercorn sauce tasted like gravy. Usual manager Claire who is great was not in but girl with dark hair who I think was manager was rude, not friendly no smile and no apologies for wait for food.

   First time visit, we arrived at 1.30pm on Wednesday, plenty of free tables. The pub does light lunch menu which is £12 for 2 meals. We ordered shepherd pie, rump steak and mixed grill, all were in generous portions. The prices on menu are reasonable and the desserts are £5.50 There is a vegetarian menu. Definitely will go back again.

   I wish I could eat here every day but the waistline would pay the price. The onion bhajis are my absolutely favourite starter every time I don’t even look at the menu I always know what I’m going to have for the starter. I mix it up for the mains but I am never disappointed the food and service has been wonderful. Really friendly and attentive staff and a lovely atmosphere. It’s always our go too place for a lovely meal out.

   Just been for a meal here, had a starter creamy garlic mushroom. absolutely beautiful can still taste them just talking about them,the main my partner had surf and turf she said it was beautiful, I had mixed grill with all the trimmings, can't tell you how good it was, the service excellent a great chilled out evening

   We visited the pub for Sunday lunch as a family celebrating my in-laws wedding anniversary. It was also a special visit as it was where my father in-law was evacuated to during the war and returning to have lunch there, we thought would be nice. Unfortunately the food was a bit of a let down. Pate for starter, would have been better with more toast. The family members who had the beef said it was nice but the turkey wasn't. The vegetable accompaniments were unappetising including lumpy mash and dry roast potatoes along with plain boiled veg. The Yorkshire pudding was hard. The dessert of sponge and custard went down well with my in-laws, especially with extra custard which we requested. All in all a nice pub but food wise could, with a bit more imagination be so much better.

   The gammon wasn't as good as on the last three visits, very little and we aren't big eaters. Staff are lovely as always. Need a better chef (cook) sorry we've enjoyed our previous visits.
