Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to The March Hare - so much so, I knew I had to come on and leave a lovely review! My friend Paula and I went for dinner at The March Hare on Friday 28th November - and what a wonderful gem this place is! The building is absolutely stunning - both inside and outside - and even the lane you drive down to get to the restaurant is so magical with all the Victorian lamps lining the road! Also a fantastic atmosphere inside this charming country pub - it's huge inside, but still has this lovely, cosy, warm and welcoming atmosphere/vibe when you walk in, as the restaurant is split up into all these wonderful alcoves and cute dining areas (so lots of choice depending on the vibe you are looking for). This country pub has a lovely manor vibe, and the decor is particularly charming. The food was also absolutely amazing with lots of great choice on the menu, and service was truly superb as well as quick. Given the fantastic location, the wonderful service, and the very very lovely and welcoming staff - this place really is excellent value for money, and I will definitely be back again on my next visit! I have to give a special shout out to the amazing Gav (Paula and I still talk about your lovely Irish accent!!) who I believe is the manager / in charge (thank you again for being so friendly and welcoming!), and also our very lovely and very friendly server Matthew, who was absolutely brilliant (and you know what Matthew, you have a great accent too!!

I have not been to the March Hare in a while due to the last few visits being very disappointing . Todays vidit has definitely changed my opion. We were greeted by the assistant manager Gav, he was pleasant and accommodating. We had not booked but he managed to squeeze us in. The waitress Georgia was very pleasant and professional. The food was lovely and service was prompt. 2 empty plates. The refurbishment was in character and creates a family friendly atmosphere. The outdoor area has had a much needed upgrade and definitely a place I will visit on a sunny day. The toilet upgrade is definitely a vast improvement . Excellent selection of drinks including a vast variety of zero alcohol. I would highly recommend it .

We had a fabulous Sunday roast and couldn’t have asked for a better experience! The food was delicious and generous in portion. Caitlin provided excellent service throughout our visit β€” friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The atmosphere was lovely too, with a relaxed and cozy vibe that made us feel right at home. We’ll definitely be coming back soon and recommending this place to all our friends and family!

We visited The March Hare as we saw it had been refurbished and had an opening 50% off mains offer on. We visited on Friday 22 August at 2pm and had pre booked and had a nice table. We hadn’t visited for a while so couldn’t remember the previous decor but it looked fab inside, cosy and felt like a country inn. Nathan was assigned to take our order and was excellent, really friendly, professional and very polite. We ordered a burger each, which was really nice and tasty. The fish and chips looked good too, so we’d try that next time. We ordered sticky toffee pudding, which was served on a textured plate, which when trying to scoop up the last bits of custard was quite noisy. I prefer a bowl when eating a hot pudding and custard, but that’s just personal preference, the pudding was nice and a decent size. Price wise, we felt it was gastro pub prices. Β£18.95 for a burger and Β£8.95 for the pudding. Overall a very nice experience with excellent service and friendly staff. We had a look at the outside seating area when leaving. Really nice seating area with a river running down below. I felt it needed some colour outside of the pub, a couple of hanging baskets would be perfect. Maybe a little late in the season now. Parking was plentiful which is always a bonus. The March Hare is easy to find and definitely worth a visit.

Always great food. Service generally good, but can be slow at times.

Lovely setting, staff were lovely made a fuss of my dog.. the food was very nice. The only fault was that my daughter, who can't have dairy, there wasn't another option so that she could have a hot drink.. Also, the establishment was cold. I would definitely go back though..

Brilliant selection of food and drink. Food quality was top notch, already planning my next visit!

We used to visit the March Hare frequently but haven't been here for about 10 years because the service went rapidly down hill. It's pleasing to see that this has improved and service was good. I only gave 4 stars because it wasn't busy and a better evaluation could be made when it's busy. My wife's traditional fish and chips was nicely done and my chicken sandwich was really good. Food quality, even though simple, was good.

Food and service great as usual. Unfortunately the restaurant temperature is borderline unbearable. I understand it's getting to that time of year again but does every radiator need to be on full tilt and every fire lit? It's a mild 14Β°c outside right now and it's simply too hot to enjoy an early evening meal.
