Great little Manchester ale house with decent real ale

Splendid old fashioned small city pub. Go for the craic, the beer and the atmosphere, especially the beer (very wide choice of well kept ales). Don't go for the food; sometimes there isn't any!

Great traditional old boozer with a great beer selection. 4* because of the flies... they were unbearable on my visits during the summer and are still there on 31st Oct. Sort it out.

This is one of the finest surviving Ale Pubs in Manchester city centre. This gem has been grade 2 listed since 1974 & is well worth seeking out. The current management team are very friendly & helpful. Beers are stocked from far & wide including some unusual regional specials, eg Neptune from Maghull, that you are unlikely to find elsewhere in the city centre. Looking forward to my next visit Cheers !

A truly fun, cozy pub that was rockin’ on an early Friday afternoon. Full of groups of friends catching up over some fine ales. Rustic is an understatement. This place has seen its share of time and patrons. Young, friendly guy at the bar explained some of their cask options, of which there are many. Plenty of regular draft, too. An absolute classic of a pub that I fear will disappear based on the age of the clientele.

Haven't been in for a pint in years. Hasn't changed; quality boozer! 5 stars as they had a gluten-free beer on tap when i visited.

Good choice of ales. Toilets are an absolute disgrace. Hand dryer broken, one basin to dry hands and press down tap falls off basin when you press it(on flexible pipe). It was like this last week as well. Toilet floor has years of built up dirt on it. Been coming in here for 45 years. Tonight will be my last.

Great traditional pub off the beat and track. Always a brilliant selection of beers and served by very friendly staff peeps. Had the Wander Beyond Brewing (a Manchester brewery) Milk Stout. As expected absolutely beautiful. I certainly recommend a visit here if you love your beers.
