My favourite place to people watch! You always get a great service and a friendly smile and the beer garden is brilliant! The perfect place to enjoy a G&T and watch the world go by! Highly recommend!
Saturday 21st June 2025 This is a great old-fashioned hydes locals pub with great staff. Great locals, and it was busy There was a lovely outdoor drinking area, and what gave this pub the full 5 stars there was 3 good hand pulled hydes beers on offer for real ale drinkers to drink
To experience this oddity in the modern world you cannot do it over a couple of drinks or a fleeting visit. It has historical and cultural depths that the locals are barely conscious of and only the regulars get it. Once you get it you'll find it difficult to let go. When I enter the MOP it feels like I'm putting on an old, but well loved jacket, with its creases that fits just right. Comfortable.
We love this pub so much. We came here as soon as we moved to the area and it swiftly became our favourite! We’ve always felt so welcome, both by the exceedingly friendly staff and lovely community of locals. I love getting to show the place off when we have friends come and stay, who are always equally charmed by it, and pleasantly surprised by how cheap it is! There’s a great range of drinks to keep everyone happy, a huge beer garden that always has blossoming seasonal plants, and a cosy atmosphere inside.
This has become our local for a reason. The staff are super friendly and always make you feel at home. They do a great job of looking after the place too. Great selection of ales, lagers and spirits, and you can get change from a fiver for your pint. Can't lose!
