Fantastic pub! This is the first time I have been in 15 years (since when I used to work there), it's just a shame that the whiskeys are gone. But I'm sure there's a reason. Still a cracking pub!

This is still a great pub, but is no longer the whisky pub it once was. The cask ale is still great, with a good number of hand pumps from a nice range of breweries, but the whisky selection has been dramatically reduced since 2024 but is still above average. Regardless, a lovely old school pub, with a lovely atmosphere.

A truly amazing pub. Just down the street from The Peveril. Tons of history in here. Lots of unique drinking rooms. Front bar is isolated from the rest of the pub. Thereβs even a beer garden! Great draft and cask options and a lovely bar staff. Just canβt beat a place like this.

I go upto Manchester at least twice a year for a bit of disco dancing or to watch the greatest football team the world has ever seen. But there has been one pub that has eluded me in my many visits to Manchester and it's the little firecracker that goes under the name of @thebritonsprotection There are so many things to love about this Grade II listed behemoth of a public house. βͺοΈThe multiroom madness βͺοΈThe huge whisky range βͺοΈFantastic cask selection βͺοΈThe delicious ceiling decoration βͺοΈThe double sided bar The absolute best thing is the warm and welcoming northern atmosphere you encounter when you walk through the door. Get yourself to this pub on the double.

Great, historic pub that still has lots of life! Would be a huge loss for Manchester if it's taken over by some faceless conglomerate. Good luck with the struggle to survive Star Group's rapacious pursuit of profit.

Beautiful, historical pub. One of my favourite pubs in England. Has so much character. Always a great selection of beers served by friendly staff members. Largest selection of Jack Daniels in the UK too!

First drank here in 1974! Was a great Tetley pub with beers from Tetley Walker Warrington. ( Joshua Tetley Leeds was the better pint. Both breweries long gone.) The landlord was great and kept beers perfectly. He also had Lock Ins. ( Illegal after hour service.) The front bar would empty and move to the back rooms. Lights off in front and service through the hatch. You left (staggering) via the back yard gate. Been numerous times over the years and this is still one of the best pubs in Manchester. Had a lovely pint of Neptune Forecast. Long may this pub prosper.
