   I had a very disappointing and frustrating experience with Halfords. My car showed an engine warning light, so I went to one Halfords branch for help. I was told by front office lad they had no capacity and was advised to go to another duki Halfords branch instead. I followed his instructions and paid £49 for a diagnostic check at the second branch. I was then told that an appointment had been booked for me the next day at the original branch. When I returned the next day as instructed, I was told there was no appointment at all and that it had been cancelled. The staff member even said that colleagues “lie”, which was extremely unprofessional. Despite explaining that I had only done what their staff advised, I was refused help and spoken to in a rude and dismissive manner. I wasted time, money, and effort, and was left without any solution for my car problem. I also felt humiliated by the way I was treated. To make matters worse, I tried to raise a formal complaint through their website and live chat, but neither were working. This experience showed a complete lack of communication, accountability, and customer care. I would not recommend Halfords based on how this situation was handled, and I will not be using their services again unless this is properly addressed.

   Refusing to Take Responsibility for Their Own Mistake I took my car to Halfords recently to have a tyre replaced. The car already had a squeak that my mechanic was planning to look at, but when he tried to take the wheel off to get to the issue, he couldn’t even remove it. The locking wheel nut had been put on incorrectly during the tyre change at Halfords. When I contacted them about it, they immediately dismissed any responsibility. They sent me a blurry, poor-quality photograph as their “evidence” that it was fitted properly. You can’t see a thing from the picture, yet they’re still refusing to accept they caused the problem. I’ve had the same mechanic for over 20 years and trust him completely. There has been no work done on the car since Halfords fitted the tyre, so it’s obvious where the issue started. Now I’ve been left having to pay someone else to sort out the damage they caused. Really disappointed by the lack of accountability and the way they’ve handled this. Update – 20/11/25 I followed Ruth’s advice and tried to get through to an expert via their chat system, but it just loops you to a virtual assistant that can’t help with anything. Completely pointless.

   What a great garage. Whole family use this place and we couldn’t recommend them highly enough. Will not be beaten on price and quality of the repairs. Brilliant gentleman named Neville always makes sure I am back on the road asap when my car has any issues. Would highly recommend him and definitely think he needs a promotion! Thanks guys!

   I've visited this store 5 times to look and for advice before buying my ebike, the advise i got from James and Conner was 10 out 10, they made the difference in me purchasing my bike. 10/10 had to visit the store without a booking and Jack C was very helpful in repairing my wheel under the care plan, well worth having. Great service 10 out of 10.

   I've had on & off issues with my Halfords since getting my new bike. Most of the staff are really friendly and polite. James went out of his way, to help me the best he could and is probably the politest and nicest guy there. The general manager, as much as he helped me and went out of his way, which I appreciate. Consistently overtalked me and I found him to be a bit condescending and unprofessional. I also had a quite rude experience with the young blonde lady. Who consistently argued with myself, and spoke quite condescending to me. All because I said I wouldn't trust Halfords with my bike. Completely daft. She did go out of her way to help me, several times for free of charge. Which I appreciate but as I say, some of those services were covered under warranty.

   After calling at B&Q my car refused to start. Battery appeared dead. Popped into Halfords explained situation. My battery was tested by JAMES and found to be knackered. New battery fitted & away we go. Top service/great response. James was efficient / knowledgeable and polite. A great many thanks. Mr. Wilson

   My car battery was slightly loose and so my car conked out in the middle of Ashton Old Road! The Hazard lights wouldn't even turn on! THANKFULLY a Halfords member of staff came out and helped push the car into the Halfords car park. He tightened the battery within minutes and sent me on my way. An absolute LIFE SAVER

   I went to get car seat n got a dashboard camera too. The staff member (Elliot) was very helpful and even assisted me setting the camera up in my car (for free). Excellent customer service Made my day Thank you Elliot

   Waited 2 weeks for a bike repair, went to pick up on agreed date, in fact I was a day late. But they haven’t even started the repair. They used the old chestnut of the repair man going on the sick yesterday yet they still didn’t have the decency to phone me to save me a wasted journey. They offer to waver the bill, (will believe it if I see it. Watch this space). This has to be last time I use Halfords, enough is enough, never any sense of urgency or on time delivery. A most disorganised organisation……Finally got my repair and a more than generous discount offered. Too much for me to accept so I gave them a fiver tip. All’s well that ends well so I change my review to 4 out of 5 stars
