13th of December 2025. As expected on a Saturday afternoon just before Xmas, it was MAD BUSY, but, the staff were still kind, courteous and funny throughout our visit. We were a party of 4 (2 couples) including one with a dietary need of a gluten intolerant diet through medical reasons and not choice. My friend (who is a frequent visitor to Manchester) was very, VERY impressed with all aspects of the pub. The food was DELICIOUS and, as I'm the gluten intolerant person, I am pleased to say that I had NO issues whatsoever later woo hoo !!! Will DEFINITELY be eating at this venue in future visits to Manchester so well done to ALLLL there and best wishes for the oncoming festivities and a Happy New Year to everyone.

Always a fan of the Wharf for a special time, and you can't beat it on a Sunday for a roast, pie, or Asian-fusian salad. Ideal for a date or a classy yet casual catch up with pals. A great selection of pints that are local, broader UK, continental Europe, and classics. They always have at least one gluten free beer on tap at a time, this time was the Brightside Bitter, but often have an alternative option. There are food options for all with the menu having extensive catering for vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free. The staff are allergen aware and I have never had a problem eating here. They offer veggie and GF savoury pies and roasts, and GF fish and chips, as well as desert options which is a rare treat. The good is reliably hot and tasty, never rushed. They can run out of popular dishes especially by late on a Sunday, but that is to be expected of a place this busy. I had the crispy beef salad (GF) which was very flavourful and had perfect textures. Parking can be validated to avoid paying anything using an iPad at the bar. There is an accessible entrance, I believe an accessible loo too. Upstairs toilets are always very clean, as pleasant as a loo can be.

One of my go-to spots in Castlefield. I’ve been many times and it’s consistently tasty β€” solid pub food done well, generous portions, and hot to the table. Great choice of beers (cask and craft) and a nice, reasonably priced wine list. Friendly staff and a relaxed, canalside atmosphere make it easy to linger with friends. Not fancy β€” just reliably good and welcoming every time.

The Wharf is a charming and traditional pub with a lovely atmosphere, perfect for a cozy meal or drinks by the canal. The food was delicious and comforting, definitely worth the visit. The only downside was the slightly long wait for both food and service, which lacked a bit of energy. Still, it’s a great spot if you’re not in a rush and want to enjoy a relaxed, classic pub experience.

I’ve tried this place for a Sunday roast which was really nice. The place is beautiful, clean and the staff is nice. The area is beautiful for a nice walk before or after your drink/meal. I’ll be back for sure.

Beautiful place to dine in or stay out on the terrace. Big selection of beers. Very nice food too.

The Place is nice, and The staff is friendly. We had a warm smoked salmon salad and a steak Burger. We expect the salad to more rich. Taste was good. The steak Burger had strong and weak points. The meat, The bacon, The cheese and The sauces were excellent. The bap was really disappointing. It was probably frozen and defrostred badly. Fries were as usual, nothing special. Prices are too expensive. To align with the Prices they need to provide a better quality. In the photo you can see the poor bap quality.

Went here for a lunch today, ordering crispy beef salad. I asked the staff not to put onion, but as you can see from the photo, it was there and I had to pick it out. This meal cost me 15 pounds for a vegetables from a stir fry pack with bottled sauce and dried out beef on top. I understand that it is hard work to pick out onions from the stir fry pack, but could be done for 15 pounds. Absolutely not worth it, will not visit again.
