I am visiting York for the day tomo and was looking online for some different shops for ladies clothing and came across Miss Diva. Having read many of the reviews I will certainly not be paying this shop a visit. It would appear the owner is a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde - charming whilst you agree with him and hand over your money but after sale very rude, unhelpful and most definitely chauvinist. This is 2025 where women speak their mind but obviously he doesn't agree with that. Hopefully his shop will soon go bust!!

Great shop for those who love shopping and looking for something special . It's like an aladins cave in there. This sales assistant maybe an older person but he certainly knows his stuff and what suits you . Would definitely recommend and return. I see by other reviews people were not impressed by the older gentlemans comments he was maybe just advising you with an honest opinion I found him very polite and pleasant and obviously has a fashion background. Maybe try visiting again and give him another chance and ask about his past. Very impressive.

I never go clothes shopping but was looking for a maxi small print dress whilst on holiday. Initially I browsed the shop and immediately liked 2 dresses but I thought were a bit pricey. I returned to the shop and I tried them on. I felt lovely in them and they fitted beautiful. They are well made and the quality of the material is really good. As I say it's not often i buy clothes so I thought what they hell im buying both of the dresses. The gentleman of the shop was really cheerful and helpful and I saw a scarf for my mum and he said have that for free as you have bought these dresses. I am thrilled..these dresses I will be able to wear in the summer and spring, good all round dresses. They have a range of unique dresses. Thank you Miss Diva I am a very happy lady.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! DISGUSTING CUSTOMER SERVICE! If I could post 0 stars, I would! Had my sandals for 7 weeks and one split. Called the shop and refund was refused because I'd worn the shoes so it was too late to return! (Isn't that what you do with shoes?!) I told him the sandals were faulty as I've worn them less than 10 times. Owner didn't even ask to see photos, despite the fact the sandals are now unwearable. He said "I only sell the shoes I don't make them". When I explained he is responsible because he sells them, he put the phone down on me!

If I could, I'd put zero stars. Very similar experience to other reviews in as much as the owner charmed in the shop but then his attitude when trying to return an item was totally dismissive and rude. My daughter went into this shop and tried on a dress that had a button missing, making it difficult to tell the fit of the dress. Frank then found the same dress that had the button in place but maintained this did not need to be tried on and persuaded my daughter to buy it, which she did. After returning home (which is 2.5 hours away from York), my daughter tried this dress on and it did not fit correctly. She rang Frank, explained the situation, and politely asked if she could return the dress via post at her expense in exchange for a refund, to which the answer was no and he could only offer a credit note (which was not explained at point of purchase). On the phone he was dismissive, rude and had no respect for my daughter which upset her as he was so charming in the shop. I then called Frank back to politely ask if he could provide a refund given the circumstances, which he could easily have chosen to do, but again he refused with the same dismissive attitude. In addition, the same dress was £10 cheaper on his website, and £23 cheaper on another big online retailer, despite Frank telling my daughter this dress was not available anywhere else. The worst retail experience ever.

BUYER BEWARE: No refunds only exchanges. Owner Frank charmed/pushed me into buying multiple dresses after only trying on one (insisting he knows woman’s bodies and how they fit). I went back to the hotel and showered and then tried on dresses, so as not to mess them up. Only one fit, so I walked back to the store to return but why had closed early due to the heat. I then went to return them this afternoon once they opened up to have Frank show me the no refund sign (very tiny under the cash register) and tell me there was nothing he could do. He was rude in how he was speaking to me and continually changed his policies, as to what suited him. I ended up having to exchange the dresses so I could at least get gifts since the dresses did not fit me. Beware Frank is charming at first, but clearly does not have respect for tourists or women in general.

I stumbled on this store while in York for the day with my Husband. There was a lovely dress in the window that drew me in. I asked to try on the dress and the owner could not have been more helpful. I tried on the larger size as I am normally a size 16, it fitted and would have been happy to buy it but was encouraged by the owner to try on a size smaller, I was dubious but it turned out he was spot on, the dress looked even better in the smaller size ( and that made me feel good about myself too ). I know if I loved in York I'd buy a whole lot more from here.
