    Kinda like a modern 'trendy bar' but with good service and brilliant entertainment. High-end traditional style IPA pub, this place hosts many quality independent seasonal, one off craft beers, has a nice mixed clientele and offers great entertainment in the form of cabaret singing, acoustic acts and a two-monthly Stand up Comedy night to rival any comedy roadshow.

    The friendliest bar you will walk into. Great selection of craft beers on keg and cask, they also have a good selection of cans in stock. The food is to die for, everything is made fresh and they have a great selection from loaded fries to burgers now added to the pizza menu.

    I cannot speak highly enough of this place. Amazing atmosphere, friendly, fun and helpful staff. You can forget your in Bolton town centre when you're in here. I recently threw my husband's 40th birthday party here - the staff went out of their way to make the night so special, even running to the shop when we couldn't find candles! They accommodated every ask, even to host a live band and piano man. Most guests hadn't been in Bolton for years and said they'd be back to drink in Northern Monkey bar. Oh and the larger & cider was a huge hit! 1000% recommend this bar

    Great place. IPA's and cocktails. I had the pineapple and strawberry mojito and it was really good. Nice pics of old Bolton. Really nice how it has been designed. Big chunky wooden tables. Few seats outside too. They do food but haven't had a chance to try yet.

    How odd. In Manchester I usually find Seven Brothers beers too strong. Here in Bolton the 3.8 pale ale beer is the weak one. The Northern Monkey being 5 and 6%. Good bar opposite Spoons. Listening to Bob Marley. Thus very laid back.
